Nice...and smooth
Two legends plus time, grateful appreciation.
✌️
Great mix.
7:10
What's the tune that starts at 6:10?
GUNGA DIN (G.Kaminsky)
@@kh1958-9 awesome, cheers!
Love the pops and crackles too.
Not so much, wish they weren’t here honestly.
Herbie Hancock - piano, Ron Carter - bass, Mickey Roker - drums, Jerry Dodgion - alto flute, Thad Jones - flugelhorn, Peter Phillips - bass trombone. March 6 & 9, 1968
I couldn't understand the nuance of the comment translation. Sorry for the trouble. Thank you ♪
I studied under Hal Stein in the 1980’s in Oakland. He had regular gigs locally with pianist Al Plank. He told me about his time in the U.S. Army in occupied Japan as well as being a musician in the early days of Las Vegas. A great guy. Regarding this album - I don’t remember which tracks, but he said the pressed recording was the sixth or seventh take, and by then the spontaneity was missing from the soloing.
Hi! I probably don't know you since I moved to NYC in 1981, but I'm Hal's daughter. He wrote Kinda Kanonic, the second song you feature here (the first on side 2 of the lp). Glad you concur that he was a great guy ;) He'd never mentioned to me the business about the number of recorded take use and the lack of spontaneity, thanks for sharing that information. Among his interesting experiences in Japan was the time he spent touring the island in 1952 or 1953 with Toshiko Akiyoshi's combo during the Korean war, when she was starting out--she turned 22 in 1952, so it was quite an accomplishment for a woman in jazz to be leading her own band at that time (and for a long time after), much less at such a tender age, and to have gotten a countrywide tour. I've never met her, but she must be a force to be reckoned with. The tour lasted quite a while--I'm not certain, I think he may have said it was over the course of 8 months--he must have gone back and forth from the base to play with her. This was before she was known in America.
Pon los músicos ¡coñe!
acabo de chegar!
Wait, hold on... I have this album and it's nearly 40 minutes long -- how is this upload 27 minutes long?? Guess I'll have to listen through to see what's missing.
Because it's only got 4 of the 6 tunes: it's missing Kokochee and No More Nights.
素晴らしいサックスだね。😃💐
Great!🥁🎼🎷🎵🎹🎶🎺
given him his due
Great performance, he knew all the notes on the tenor, pays to study and practice, you may be gone from earth, but your music still walks the earth, and I walk with it, every note you blow on the tenor, from CALIFORNIA.
Créditos?
love it. highly mainstream
I bought this double LP many years ago. Beautiful!
I think the Dark Eyes “outtake” happened because the session overall was tense - more so for Bill than Stan, I think. The funniest part is when the engineer rewinds the tape near the end.
Bill Evans is in my top 5 favorite pianist.

hi KH! is there any way to get in contact with you via email?

Smooth , thanks from old New Orleans 😎

Gracias por compartir su música 🎼.
Nice! Never heard of the artist before and happy to say I now have.
ドラムが鮮やかに聞こえますね~。(^_-)-☆
(^_-)-☆~♪
Down to the bone rendition leaving me stupidly sentimental and strung out for more Bill Evans

The most magic moment in the history of music 💫
i've never heard this album and do not know who play.......but i bet on Philly Joe Jones on drums.....am i right ?
Thank you for your comment. The drummer is "Philly"♪ The other members are: IRA SULIVAN, trumpet; HORACE SILVER, piano; WILBUR WARE, bass; J. R. MONTEROSE, tenor sax.
Alex Riel!!!! Our 2019 tour with him was simply unforgettable 🍸 It was fun and joy on the stage, off the stage, all the time 🎉 R.I.P. Alex ❤️
The Begin The Beguine opening track sounds like some end titles to a a blast of a fun movie. I heard some Heath in the '80's that knocked me out. I used to work in a darkroom at a custom photo lab and had my decent hifi in it. Local radio in the bay area took care of my needs.
So beautiful sound, may i know the system used?
Trio interpreting some of the finest music ever composed on earth. ❤
Have you also Something from Benny Carter Quartet / Summer Serenade
Have you also Something from Oliver Jackson Quintet ( Billie's Bounce )
