Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 over the Donner Pass

In July of 2024, the Union Pacific Big Boy Number 4014 went on its Westward bound tour ultimately making it to Northern California. After stopping at Roseville for a few days, 4014 would do the Donner Pass tour from Roseville California - Sparks Nevada. At Auburn the train hit a tree, delaying the whole tour to Sparks. Finally after 2 and a half hours, 4014 rolls into Colfax which is where we w...

Railfanning Newark Junction CA - 6/28/2024

Newark junction is a great spot to railfan where the UP coast sub meets up with the UP Mulford line better known as little coast. Traffic can get decently busy during rush hour since ace runs hourly, though I went in the afternoon to catch the IOANP (Oakland to North Platte) which is the only daily freight train aside from locals that runs on the line. The only other intermodal that passes thro...
Union Pacific Mulford local switching the salt industries at Newark CA

The Union Pacific Mulford local runs from West Oakland to Newark and back. It runs Monday-Friday on the Mulford line. While railfanning at Newark junction on 6/28/2024, we heard the Mulford local switching near the Newark yard. So after the IOANP passed, we quickly went to Central Ave to see the local switching and shunting box cars into Cargill Salt at the Northern tip of the yard. Enjoy the v...
Lots of freight trains at Stockton! (And UP 1988) - 5/27/2024
Просмотров 2194 месяца назад
I went to Robert J Cabral station at Stockton California for the 4th time on 5/27/2024. This station is very busy in terms of freight traffic. While there I was surprised by Union Pacific 1988 “The Katy” heritage unit trailing the MWCRV, not only that it was a perfectly timed train meet with another UP manifest. Overall it was a great day.
Railfanning Fremont - The last UP ZG2OAB

I went to catch the usual UP (Union Pacific) ZG2OAB and some Amtraks on June 2nd 2024. The ZG2OAB ran from Global 2 to Oakland every week on Sundays. Little did I know this would be the last one. A few days later I got a word from other railfans informing me UP would abolish the ZG2OAB, discontinuing the service. Luckily, a new train, the ICBOA will replace the ZG2OAB making up for the loss. Earlier this year I took a trip to Sacramento and decided to stop by Roseville to catch some evening Union Pacific trains. Turned out to be pretty busy and even caught an Amtrak. Roseville Yard is the Californias hub for Union Pacific and is very busy.

Im a light rail operator, Ive had close calls with cyclists too, its scary. REMEMBER, DO NOT walk in front of a train UNLESS you know its come to a full stop
Ok the cyclist was stupid but what is that station design? Where i live this might pass as a suburbian tram station but who in their right mind would think this is adequate for full size intercity trains?
I think the Amtrak station need to bring the Amtrak police department to stop him from beating the train and giving him a ticket
It’s always a fucking biker 😑

I love that there is not a single person defending the biker. Maybe all hope is not lost.
Brothers were clearly defending him at the end there.
The captions seem to indicate that the scheduling was to blame for this incident rather than the guy just being stupid
yeah, running in front of a train was ok here bekoz da platform changgget
The biker was not pinned or strapped to the tracks against their will and this wasn't an innocent pet so there is no reason for train crew to inconvenience anybody making passengers spill their coffee stopping so quickly and delaying the choo choo train ride. When incidents like this happen then photos of these dweebs need to be turned into the police so citations can br mailed.
@@bryanlas why does it have to be taken that far though?

What's the deal with the track being flush with the platform? Is this common? I suppose it's cheaper to walk across the tracks than it is to walk under/over, but it just makes dangerous stuff like this much easier to do. Especially when there's a change in the schedule. If you're on the wrong platform when the train comes due to a last minute change, you're screwed. If there was a tunnel you could at least try to run under the train to try and catch it before it leaves. Otherwise, how does one get to the other platform when the train is there? And I guess if there is actually a tunnel, why tf are the tracks flush with the platform?
The train was going to stop and load everyone up, he had time to go around
was that DUMMY holding their PHONE too? jesus fuck
Lol all the talking, especially at the end, sounded just like GTA NPC's talking
That looks incredible unsafe. Why is a full-ass train just rolling into a level platform?
because full ass people are standing back from the edge like they should be - and the train is idling there, jogging speed - what part of this is unsafe you ninny?
Because this is America and we don't believe in spending money to build a proper train station
