    AAAH FINALLY YOURE BAACK 😊, ah and for liduke i found something on their twitter post showing liduke doesnt use complicated layer and just paint over everything,no line art and base color layer too!!, its a step by step art post from liduke itself, its a very old post. if you are okay with critics 5:08 your artstyle is good but watch the proportion for exemple long face ? long nose? maybe put more detail for example drawing more hair to make it look more realistic eye detail etc but if you can draw a different pose and a different composition with the same artstyle then forgot everything i say because at this point its your choice that matters

    Those bells look so good. The entire painting does, but I'm really interested in the bells - oh and the fur within the ears look so good too. I've been trying to figure out how to make that same sort of vibe for fur around the collar of some armor. Inspiration from the most random places, I know.

    I quite like your take on this image. The piece you study is nice of course and has some more details in areas, but I like how your colours pop more, and in contrast the study piece can feel a little washed out. Of course just a matter of taste but I really like yours!

  • @detired3590

    Pretty interesting methods here! As an artist who likes breaking down many styles there are a few things i think i notice? Their coloring and lineart seem more in line with greyscale? But when it comes to shading seems less opaque grey and more black sketch with some line weight transparency? It’s a little easier to tell when you look at the shawl in shadow i think. The sheer black doesn’t seem to hit some spots so you can see the colors underneath. The colors there seem shaded with black. When you zoomed in on some parts, the lineart looks more like that as it sometimes transitions with what would be the colors underneath or when the lines are too opaque it shows more black instead. Meanwhile some other lines or colors look more overpainted. When it comes to their logic on saturation it looks like most their colors are desaturated but when it comes to whats hit by the light or glowy(?) is a little more saturated like you said! Just seems that probably with their base method the colors come out more desaturated. Really good study though! It’s always nice finding out about new artists plus always more to learn from them!

    • @_mimi_mimimi
      @_mimi_mimimi 8 месяцев назад

      Thank you so much for the feedback! I also learned a new word "shawl" so thank you for that too. I actually completely forgot about the line art during the study and the video because it is so masterfully blended into the painting. I ended up just leaving what lines had and just decided to move on but I'll definitely try that when I study another artist with more a painterly style next time. Shading with black is also something I have never considered before. Up till now I've also only just tuned the colors and desaturated them manually but shading with black directly seems like it could be interesting too. Thank you again for sharing!

  • @einhasad7
    @einhasad7 8 месяцев назад

    I'm not an artist but I think that your character ended up with the impression of being 2-3 years younger than the original based on the thickness of the chin area, which pushed her face in, and how much more red there is to her face. Obviously a smaller face would make the character look younger and that much is well known but I didn't think that the differences in saturation would've also contributed to the age of the character that much. It made her a bit more lively which we probably associate with youth. Since the original work is for a post apocalyptical sort of game I think it makes sense that with more desaturated colors the character would look a bit less lively and look less out of place in that world, but also I also understand that that is just how Liduke colors things so maybe I'm thinking too much about this, as I don't think he or she would've made the character much more saturated than this. Great video

    • @_mimi_mimimi
      @_mimi_mimimi 8 месяцев назад

      Thank you for the feedback! The apocalyptical idea makes sense, their art for other games does seem a lot more saturated so that makes a good explanation!

    I think its gonna be worth tryng to rearrange your pipeline, to be more painterly. Your line art is not bad, but seems like the original art doing it in on one layer, almost substitute oclusion.

    Oh my gosh!! The amount of effort you put into this study (making the textures, making a whole brush on the fly??? ) is really incredible! Wowowow!! I'm going to steal that dotted marker brush you used at 6:20, it's such a genius way of introducing more texture into a painting, thanks for the detailed breakdown!
