Hell no.... This is too expensive for a bootcamp. No no no
So proud of Kara! Her initiative and passion inspires me more than she know. Blessing to her and her family. I love you girlie!
This is real talk right here. Invest that money in blue chips or the market index (VTI). Don't bet your retirement on lottery stock.

This was a great topic 👍 and thanks for sharing your story
What about interested people outside US
I promise this is true. I ran from linux for years as a Systems Engineer. i just landed a Linux SysAd spot and I'm more excited than the cloud offers I had, because YOU WILL RUN INTO LINUX no matter how much you run. So might as well master it. And you become soooooo rare in the industry
how much is her program
good motivation. currently learning RH Linux to help me get a cloud role. I have a few years of networking engineer experience. Hopefully i can land at least a cloud analyst role before the summer.
From the link: "Microsoft will accept applications for this role until August 29, 2024." If you're finding the video now, it will be too late to get in the January cohort, as applications closed three days after the video was originally posted. Anyone interested should focus on preparing for the next Leap cohort by creating a solid portfolio showcasing original work that isn't full of bootcamp/class project work, perhaps do some open source contributions, etc., and start doing coding interviewing prep. If selected, you'll still have to do a standard entry level coding interview to enter the program.
This was fantastic! And quite informative and has clarified a lot of my suspicions. Especially for someone who recently graduated from Civil Engineering and has aspirations on ending up in real estate. Thank you Demetrice Ballenger 💯
Eould you guys be able to help me grt funding for my startup? Already launched just need some money to advertise and continue to make my software better
awesome!
Great information. Thank You. 🙏🏽
Thank you very much to you
He didn’t even talk about cloud engineering like that
i had this in my que for monthssssssss. finally got around to watching and he isnt speaking about a thing
@ go to the other one with Paloma instead of him
@ good look bro , I’m on break at work about to do that
I wish i made more for working on Linux servers, but sadly, barely making 75k. About to upgrade our Zimbra servers, OS first though (which is Debian 10 to Debian 12) should be pretty easy. From what ive learned the past 10+ years working in IT, both the private and public sector, is if you want a 6 figure salary, you need a security clearance. Funny thing is, when I was going to get mine, i failed because i had student loans LOLOLOL im laughing cynically at the fact that, i went to school to get these kinds of jobs, but then school loans held me back from getting the tools i needed to land the job. What a world we live in huh. Am i still bitter because i had the job for a year and then had to apply for the clearance after a year just to be denied. Personally, It was the best job i ever had and i loved the people, it honestly damaged me mentally because i went from a problem solving wizard to questioning my very exisistance.
Let's go ladies!
Is it too late to began?
Can we still join. I don’t see anywhere to continue once you click the link
The link still works for me, not sure why it's not working for you - try different/refreshing browser or closing and reopening link: jobs.careers.microsoft.com/global/en/job/1754336/Software-Engineer:-Microsoft-Leap
He kept it real with the next check to next check
Im interested in applying but will I be eligible if i Live in Canada?
@@justinchancukxki550 this particular link is only for the USA and requires that you don’t need work authorization. BUT check Microsoft’s website because the do run this program in other countries, I just don’t know if they’ve started recruiting for those other countries and if it includes Canada
Thank you
@@bezualemfisseha2119 good luck on the application
Thank you
@@davisnk930 thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing.
@@BelladoniusMonk no problem. Good luck!
Do you train people online. If yes how do i enroll.
I have Linux+, and I'm working on RHCSA right now. That is leading me to studying Bash scripting, because basically everything you do on the RHCSA can be done using Bash scripts. Adding SysOps is smart too. I have AWS Developer and AWS Solutions Architect, the SysOps is next. I also have CCNA. You can't just know the servers, you need to know the network that the servers are a part of too. My opinion about programs like this is that its fine to try to use, but be careful. Have at least 6 months of living expenses saved in addition to program fees. Because companies are ruthless and will throw you out the door if you don't get up to speed immediately. You might get lucky and wind up somewhere where the people are reasonable about the learning curve, but if you don't you should be prepared for the worse. These companies really want rockstars without investing in their people whatsoever!
Why does she sound like she’s drunk or something?
Stop being negative
@ Who says it’s negative?
Omgaaah 😮 I’m on it!!!! You’ll be interviewing me to tell my story in about 10-12 months ❤ bet 🚗 💨
What is her name and IG profile account?
Not only do around 60% of small businesses fail within 6 months of a cyberattack, but publicly traded companies often suffer significant stock price decline after a major cyber incident - around 7.5% according to some estimates.
How much did he say it was? 21:45

Depending on the job, you may be.
Superb interview. Phenomenal human being.
🎉 She has trained for this role all her life. Got the game and running with it! Congratulations
This was such a fabulous interview! Thank you Andrew & Kara!
I am really interested to take the course but I live in EU, can you do it online pls?
Yes you can
Are these jobs remote or mostly in office?
Are there apprenticeship programs for people overseas? @cusTEMJourneys
Man. This video is right on time. Currently working Federal law enforcement and making the pivot now into cyber. Studying for comptia security + as we speak.
I think tech is a great career, otherwise I wouldn't have been in it for almost 20 years. With that said, I think the lifestyle that accompanies tech is a bit toxic. Late/long hours, weekends/on-call, production "support", sitting all day leads to back and neck issues, and more. I moved from support to admin to devops to cloud, and I am happy where I am, but even with all that movement and progress and working fully remote... I somedays wish I just became an electrician and moved around more and had more autonomy. That would lead to a longer life, healthier body and healthier mind, just my 2 cents. Some advice I generally give young people is: 1 - keep growing and learning otherwise you will get replaced. 2 - stand up every 45mins for 5mins, 3 - do not work on a "on-call" or "weekend support" schedule, 4 - when they stop valuing you or you get bored and aren't learning, start applying.
This is for people without a 4 year degree.
Can these positions be offered remotely from anywhere in the world? As in, first time job in this industry, living abroad but USA citizen.
Hi how do you charge for your program
Great vid thanks
