Nice run and you kept improving!!
Stay safe while 😂 having FUN!! Good driving.
You will give Max a run for his money, 😊Mom.
There are always a plethora of autocross videos from events that I run but yours are usually by far, the most entertaining. See you next time. I drove Dustons cheater Civic Si...now I need to get my shot in that cheater RX8!
Thanks, Marc! See you out there!
This proves i've been driving a cheater car all along!
The cars limits are very high. But the driver mod is still the best mod.

BIG BRAIN!
requesting more memes for the future...
Memes incoming...
You're welcome.
re-watching this, the car seems a little bouncy between 4:10 and 4:18. not sure if it felt that way to you. maybe that would suggest increasing front and rear rebound just a hair?
Good catch! I agree. I have already increased the front by 1/4 turn instinctively after the event by "feeling" the front rebound was too soft. It's unfortunate I didn't notice and adjust during the event. Something I need to be more perceptive on in the future. I think the bouncing is mostly tied to the front but If I feel any at the rear I can make the same adjustment. Thanks.
Very interesting wacky, inflatable waving tube man!
That looked like a really fun course! Wish I was in town to be there. Great runs and great edits!
Thanks you! Hope to see you at one of the upcoming events!
Loved the intro, it had me laughing out loud 😂
Just trying to match the level of fun in the video to the real experience of racing an old beat up Miata.
Hilarious edits, very nice final run!
Thanks!
Whether or not you're the fastest is irrelevant. You are the most entertaining :)
Thanks, Marc!
Great editing!
Thanks!
Nice footwork!
Thanks, need to work on hands now!
Noice.
Very entertaining. Your fastest run was nicely executed with good aggression. Glad you put together a strong run.
I'm kind of happy with the run. I think I still left time out there. I was happy with my foot work but feel I might need to start paying more attention to hand work. There are times I do some shifting around with my hands and it sometimes leads to me turning the wheel too much. Something to work on.
Lisan al-Galib!
Very nice! Way to attack; really liked your line to the finish through the last offset! What type of alignment changes?
Thanks. Unfortunately, I'm still working on looking far enough ahead (like you) and I felt like I was slightly behind the course for the first 3/4 of the run. I also left too much distance to the cones in some areas as I was expecting more grip but tire heat build up was not to be found here. I actually flattened out the rake of the car by lowering the rear some. This is a major change to balance as I'm looking for better high speed stability. This in turn changes what level of camber is necessary at the rear so I noted and pay attention to wear and temps and found I have too much neg camber in the back. All the data I needed was acquired. Changes can now be made before the first points event with SCCA.
This one got quite a few views already. Your SEO must be on point!
there were a few key moments where you could have lost the best run as the car started sliding, but you danced it on the edge without losing time. very well done.
The RX8 is inherently composed and communicative. It helped some I'm sure.
Nice foot cam.
Thanks
How did the RX8 compare to your NA Miata?
It realistically is a larger hardtop NC Miata. It has similar balance of that car but with the added perks of having a large enough interior to be comfortable. It has a slightly more Midship feel to it and the longer wheel base makes it very forgiving at the limit. It has one of the best and most compliant suspensions I've ever felt. (And this was before my brother's upgraded Ohlins suspension). I've driven and rode in many different cars on the street, autox and track. Some as cheap as $1k and some as expensive as $250k. I don't believe there is another chassis out there that applies it tires to the ground better than the RX8. I do believe this is because of suspension design and geometry, weight balance and position, total suspension travel and tuning. The chassis is ridged. Bumps do not bother it. It responds to every single driver input. It's mass is low and centered and loves to rotate in a predictable and controllable way. It also has amazing brakes and puts it's power down very well. In its stock form its wheel wells are large and can fit tall and wide tires without modifications. The only downside to it's performance on track would be, while it handles its curb weight well, I do think it's a tad overweight for my liking. Also the power is good but you have to maintain a favorable RPM which sometimes is a challenge. Both of the issues are solvable but bring compromises. Weight reduction will mean cost investment and/or comfort reduction. A Series 2 rear differential is shorter and would help wheel power and RPM favorability but driving longer distances down the highway would be compromised with higher RPM's. My brother daily drives this RX8 and transports it to the track under its own power.
Great video
Thanks
Nice left for braking. Tried it and failed miserably and haven't gone back.
I used to drive CDL Class B trucks in downtown Wash D.C. I had to learn to be very quick when transition to the brakes due to traffic and unaware drivers. I started then just using my left foot to brake to reduce my reactions and cross over time from gas to brake. Doing lighter more causal left foot braking with an automatic vehicle on the street I found helped build up confidence.
Foot cam is great. For those of us without an OBD port I’ve always been jealous of those with throttle and brake traces. I also didn’t know that you used left foot braking! I am pretty used to doing that on the sim but have yet to try it out in my Miata.
Left foot unless I need to grab the clutch!
LFB is an OP skill once you're good at it.
"That car must have great ABS". "YOU IDIOT, THAT'S HUMAN ABS!"
I am very envious of the foot cam! I might buy an akaso solely for footwork.
Worth while investment IMO!
Nice footsies.
Where's the gutter hook though?
Dirt hook @1:40 , Gutter hook 1@2:12 , Gutter Hook 2 @2:37 , Dirt Hook 2 @3:14 , Gutter Hook 3 @3:50 , Gutter Hook 4 @3:58 , Gutter Hook 5 @4:04 , Gutter Hook 6 @5:02 , Gutter Hook 7 @5:17 . ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?
These are great. But I am looking for the full 10 second Initial D cinematic gutter hook.@@CurtisHuffman-cj5qm
the drift after 2:45 was beautiful
Thanks!
I have only tired no ABS in AC one time and I hated it. Props for making it to the bottom of the hill!
Lella thinks the NC is best!
19 sub how do you not have more I am trying to get in to auto cross and come from racing go karts so I love this
Hello and welcome. Thank you for the compliment. The truth is RUclips Algorithm likely does me no favors however, If I was more entertaining I would likely have more subs so I will keep working at it. Karting is a great place to come from and the transition to Autocross is not as different as more people might think it is. Don't hesitate to go to any local autocross clubs near you and watch and get rid alongs in the meantime. I have a long and busy 2024 Autocross season coming up and will aim to make a video out of every event. If you feel up to it share my channel and videos to any friends/people you know with similar interests. Sharing goes along way. Have a good one.
i have heard people say: The NB is a better car. The NA is a better MIATA.
Probably some truth to that.
seems about right honestly. how different does the NA and NB feel?
nevermind, the video got there. lol!
NA is my favorite!
Because it's the happiest!
If I wanted a car to build and mod I would choose the NA/NB. If I wanted a stock car to just enjoy Id take the NC/ND. I drove and rode in a stock NC on the street and it was surprisingly comfortable.
Solid choices.
i've found we each get to choose our own definition for good enough, and don't be afraid to challenge and change that definition over time. at first, mine was to have fun. then, it was to be competitive. then, it was to dominate. for a time, i had something to prove, not just to others, but mostly to myself. but now, having achieved those goals, i've come full circle back to: have fun. That's my personal criteria for success, and i don't measure my worth and value by numbers on a score sheet. it's nice that once you achieve a reasonably high level, you also learn to appreciate others who might not have the same level of machinery and prep, but they still execute with what they're driving to a high level. i've seen folks go from upper mid pack to totally dominate not with much skill change but a better machine. all that said - in any given weekend, it's up to us as to how close we get to our machine's, and our own, maximum potential. i've won and been dissatisfied with my performance, and i've lost and never been more satisfied.
Is this about cars lmao
the stock ND boogies! you can see and feel how soft the factory suspension is, particularly under braking. looks very realistic.
True. All 4 gens are soft stock. I have another video showing that off. Coming soon.
“I just want to do the best I can every time.” - Max Verstappen
Looks like a good run. But you might need to break out the touch up paint....😀
Only some minor paint scratches...
PS, run the rx8 next!!
Lol, did you add the cone death sounds?
Yes. www.myinstants.com/en/instant/roblox-oof/
That already looks like a super fun and decently long autox layout, will have to try this out for myself!
I had no idea AC had an autocross tool. I'm going to have to try this out.
I like beating times, so I'm going to attempt to beat yours, I will let you know if I managed
Managed to get a 1:04.158 in a FK8 Civic
Good runs considering the traffic
