Rhapsody for Baritone Saxophone & Full Orchestra by Mark Watters
Zachary Lewis performs Rhapsody for Baritone Saxophone alongside the University of Oklahoma Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Jonathan Shames. March 1st, 2019.
Many thanks and appreciation to my Saxophone Professor Dr. Jonathan Nichol. This performance would not have been possible without his many years of dedicated mentorship, technical and classical expertise, and unwavering commitment to his students. I can not say thank you enough, Dr. Nichol. I would also like to thank Mark Watters for composing such a beautiful piece for the Baritone Saxophone. This piece brought and still brings me great joy with every listen. I hope it will continue to do the same for others!

This piece truly shows the beauty of the Baritone Saxophone that is often over looked. Mr Watters brings out the best of Baritone Saxophone in this piece! I am in love with it and just about dedicated my junior year of high school preparing the piece. I hope Mr. Watters writes more Bari Sax literature to show the world what this instrument is cable of of!
Hi, is possible you send the score for orchestra?
Wonderful performance. Congratulations, Bravo ;-)
Me encanta 😀😍😍😍 when I "grow up" I wanna play that one, hahaha.
Hermoso <3 <3 <3 <3 ufff.
Were there any altissimo in your version because I know in the original their is.
P. McDrippln' haha yes I played all the altissimo
This score is hard ! ...Very performing ... bravo .. from France
As a fellow saxophonist, I can't imagine how long you must've worked on this. Simply amazing.
What type of Neckstrap did you use?
How long did it take for you to finally get this piece situated to a performance level? I'm really hoping I can play with my high school highest band next year as a junior!
This piece took me no more than 2 months to learn and have performance ready. I have performed this piece many of times at different competitions and concerts. The more you perform the piece, weather its "performance read" or not, the faster you will learn and become more comfortable with the piece. Best of luck!
Thank you so much! :D
What's your setup
Killer Keemstar Selmer series 3 baritone, S90 180 for the mouthpiece, and for reeds I use vandoran blue box 3's
Zachary Lewis Thanks
Damn, just mind blowing. Tone, articulation, technique...What I was most impressed by was your projection, I've never heard a Bari sax cut through a band like that!
WAIT. ONE. SECOND. you played this your JUNIOR year of high school....!!!????
MayMarchxD haha yes I did!
This is crazy, how did you sound so utterly amazing, honestly pro quality, that's not fair, not fair I say! I could never ever slay this wonderful piece like you did. I honestly thought this was some sort of college performance! 👌👌
