Hearth and Fire, (c) 1980 Gordon Bok, BMI. Recorded in Camden, Maine by Gordon Bok and the QuasiModal Chorus. "I made this one Thanksgiving, surrounded by good company, a warm house, and plentiful food; and I could not keep from thinking of friends who, for illness, poverty, distance or death, could not share those things with me." ~GB Hearth and fire be ours tonight And all the wind outside; F...
I remember those days. Yesterday was so long ago...The QuasiModal Chorus made up some of our most memorable times, at the Thirsty Whale Inn and elsewhere.
WHY show me a vidio that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with what I asked to see... ???
wondrous; thanks for sharing
The voice of my soul
A beautiful tribute to a beautiful soul.
Hi Gordon, This is your old fan from Belgium. Good to see you, although we have both grow old (and grey) since I first discovered your songs back in the winter of 1974. Take good care of yourself ...
Johnny Todd was (is) the first song on the first side of the first album...That's long ago and time is cruel to our voices ...please go back and listen to that early perfomance if you can ... Love at first listen...Herring Croon is last song on the second side of the same album...can't hold back the tears ...
Fan since 1968. Let's go down to the Brandy Tree...
Love the song at 10:18 and what a beautiful instrument!
O love it so much!
Thank you, Gordon, for posting this. It's wonderful to see and hear you in such an intimate setting. Much love from Puget Sound. :o)
I'm 69 years old, and have been playing your music since I was 23. I " ran into you, " Gordon, on the Clearwater. My accompanist yelled for me "We're on next" I was below decks and came tearing up the stairs. The doorway darkened, and I slammed head first into Gordon Bok! I went tumbling down the stairs, tail over tin cup. I was late and bruised for my first song, but I could say with pride "I ran into Gordom Bok on the Clearwater!" No word of a lie, All five feet of me.
i rocked my kids to sleep with your first album...
i still have the chair... aye...
did ye meet (pastor floyd shaffer) socataco the clown ?????
I last saw him in Sterling CO at the community college in 2013. I was chatting with him afterwards as he gathered up stuff (he had no roadies). One of the regrets of my life is that I did not say, hey, let's go get coffee, or something like that. He is an amazing story teller. And his playing leave me in awe.
I was introduced to him 40 years ago. I have him in concert about eight times. Words simply unable to express what his, along with Muir and Tricket, music mean to me. I learned from him that I can sing. The is a place for a bass singer.
I have loved his music since I first heard him around 1976 so. I made cassettes of all his albums so I could play them in the car.

Nobel Prize for Kinesiology to you both.
Awesome Awesome!
I have been going to Gordon's concerts every chance I got for nearly fifty years. Just love the stories and that wonderful baritone voice not to mention his trademark finger picking. Just wonderful!
I was given a mix tape of Gordon's music in 1990. I was in California . . . the music painted pictures of the New England coast. Now I live in Vermont and have felt the magic of the Maine coast. I like to think Gordon's music had a part in bringing me to my new home.
This has long been a favorite of mine, and I thank you for writing it.
Great to see you Gordon. Thanks for helping bring back live performance.
Lovely, Gordon!
This came into my recommended and now I am very happy
So glad to hear these tales! I first knew your music when on a week-long cruise on the "Mercantile" in September 1979 out if Camden harbor. We made it to Isle Au Haut! We had winds from Hurricane Frederic...it was fantastic. And your music made the most indelible mark on me. Decades later am still enjoying! Thank you!
Fantastic. So glad to have found you on youtube!
Thank you for uploading this for those of us who live far away but still admire Gordon's music! I am a long time admirer and I don't think I'll ever be able to see Gordon perform live, but his music has accompanied me for most of my life and shaped me as a person. It's a real treasure. Peace and take care everyone <3
Top-notch Gordon, as always.
So glad to see Gordon still bringing his stories and songs to the world. I saw him in the late 70s at WWU in Bellingham WA and about 5 years ago In Portland, OR. Unforgettable. Sail on, Gordon.
Brings me back to my college days in the 60s. Your music still gives me chills. Thank you.
Long time admirer. I'm so glad I found this.
I’m 73 years old and I’ve just recently discovered your music on Amazon. Now I’m getting caught up listening to all I can find. It’s like a Gordon Bok marathon around here. Thank You for doing what you do.
I’ve been rejoicing in his music for over 40 years. Dig into his discography. He’s magnificent, and never more so than with Trickett and Muir.
So Beautiful, much love..
So beautiful!!!
Just lovely. Quiet and peaceful, like Carol. Thank you all. This is especially moving to me having been connected to Carol before and after, and seeing the courage she's mustered, the obstacles she's overcome, the example she's set for us all.
Amen 🙏
Very beautiful! We all miss our Artists and look forward to a more artful year ahead!
So lovely and touching. Thank you.
An emotionally beautiful love song where I now appreciate the symbolic use of quarters as energy resources which have been a hallmark of Carol's inspiring healing and love.
What a gift this song is! Hearing it sung by these three dear people, with the beautiful pictures of Carol, Gordon and the aspens makes it doubly moving. Thank you all.
This is so beautiful... it brought tears to my eyes.
I can't begin to say how much this moved me. Beautiful words, beautiful tune, beautiful pictures and beautiful people. (Although I must admit that I wondered why there were so many American quarters in that jar - took me a second...)
I recall Carol writing something about having a certain amount of quarters, like energy, to spend in a day. I'm glad she no longer needs to count the quarters! Thank you for this beautiful song.
a song almost as beautiful as the person xx
Lovely, heart-touching tune, beautifully sung.
Very lovely - lyrics and voices, music and images. Blessings.
So much snow! Thank you for this. So peaceful. Wish I could hear you live someday.
Gorgeous! So miss singing with you all... Sometime again.
