Ninja Combi Candied Yams and Chicken Meatloaf #ninjakitchen #realfood
Of course, ninja combi did it again! I put a little too much water in the potatoes and will put less next time but this was a great healthy hearty meal made in less than 1 hour.
Ingredients:
2 lb ground chicken ( I grind my own 1/2 thigh and 1/2 breast)
2 lb sliced sweet potato (sort of thin)
1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs soaked in milk

1 tsp cinnamon
2 T butter (more if you like)
2 tablespoons spicy mustard and splash of Worcestershire sauce
Sauce:
2 T spicy mustard
1 T Worcestershire sauce
1-2 T honey

      @@realfoodprep yes. Ive been cooking all my own meals for a couple years now. I got an air fryer and liked it but I felt it smelled! But I saw a post somewhere that said the speedi had no smell. I take it you feel the same way. The speedi unit looks like it would fit into my cooking program so well. I live in a condo without an oven so it would really expand my possibilities. Thanks again I look forward to perusing through your library.

    • @realfoodprep
      @realfoodprep 4 дня назад

      Yes the Speedi and combi can both do just about anything you can do in an oven, they are both great machines if it was not for the large capacity of the combi I would probably prefer the Speedi but it would be hard to choose between the two.

  • @carasss7775
    @carasss7775 9 дней назад

    Hi, you still show some Speedi meals- do you think you can make the same meal in both Combi and Speedi, or what do you feel works better or what you prefer to make in these 2 cookers. Thanks again for showing scratch meals and being very specific about your settings. This chicken dressing bake looks so comforting food!

    • @realfoodprep
      @realfoodprep 8 дней назад

      Yes I do still use my speedi, I do think the same meals can be made in both with slight adjustments. I do cook most weeknight meals in he combi just because I do a lot of meal prep because I cooke about 95% of the meals we eat. The combi does have a larger compacity BUT I do prefer the Speedi for some things like the chicken wings, I do feel like I get a slight crispier wing with the speedi but I love both machines which is why I did not get rid of the speedi when I purchased the Combi. You have given me an idea, possibly in the future I will make a video creating the same meal in both and do a comparison as I know people may be trying to decide which one is best for their kitchen. Thanks so much for watching!

    I’m trying to figure out how you got steam when you slid the food in to a slot that was higher than required… Normally the tray has to touch the bottom of the cooker and yours was not. Just curious

    • @realfoodprep
      @realfoodprep 8 дней назад

      You only have to have the pan in the bottom position for certain functions, when I switched to bake function the steam/smoke you see I think is created from the moisture in the vegetables as they are roasting. Thanks for watching.

    How do you know how much liquid to put in the cooking pan? If I use enough spaghetti for 2 people not sure how much liquid to use. I don’t want a lot of water left that doesn’t get absorbed. I love my Combi but there is a lot of guesswork involved….

    • @realfoodprep
      @realfoodprep 15 дней назад

      Yes it is a lot of guesswork and the water amount does depend on the type of pasta and how long the other ingredients will take, however as a general rule double the amount of liquid to past but if you like a lot aldente reduce that and if you are using like a angel hair of course it would be a little less water. I generally use barilla protein pasta in most of my pasta dishes not all and it is just a tad under double the liquid to cook the texture we like. Thanks for watching!

    I’m not sure I’m a fan of how much the door glass steams up to the point where you can’t see the food through the window. And what kind of damage over time might result on the inside of the oven from all that water…just me thinking….

    • @realfoodprep
      @realfoodprep 21 день назад

      Because it uses the steam to cook the food so quickly there is a lot of condensation when you are done cooking some of the meals and I try to clean this up as soon as I am done cooking. I have had the Combi for almost a year now with no damage from the water but if that is a concern you may prefer the Ninja Speedi. It is similar but doesn't offer quite as much cooking compacity but still can cook a family meal quite quickly. Thanks for watching! ruclips.net/video/vlYSzQI2GTk/видео.html

    What kind of broth? How long to cook noodles ?

    • @realfoodprep
      @realfoodprep Месяц назад

      Hi! I added a 1/2 cup of chicken broth and 2 c water. You can do any ratio of the liquid you would like and could use any broth as the broth is just adding another layer of flavor and the water is "cooking the noodles". I cooked on the pasta function so there was no set time, the ninja pasta function is a preset "time" function. I used barilla protein plus pasta so cooking time may differ depending on the type of pasta you use. The orzo pasta is another great example of a roasted veg pasta that is personally one of my favorites. ruclips.net/video/6VSccbQu6Qg/видео.html Thanks so much for watching!

    Very good presentation. I think though for the rice I would have used vegetable stock or broth for more taste. When I do this I will of course not use read beans but pinto beans as a good old Eastern Kentucky Mountain fellow would do. But we don't call them pinto beans, we call them soup beans when cooked. For those older than me and bolder, they will even make soup bean sandwiches with cold beans. It was also a good idea when she did the rice to put the tray in as it will help to deflect the heat from the rice and overcook it.

      Yes slow cook on high 6.5 or 8 or 9 hours on slow. Add enough liquid so they don't dry out. Thanks for watching!

    Love this simple video! Did you make your starter from the grain you milled?❤

    • @realfoodprep
      @realfoodprep 2 месяца назад

      @Katy_living_simply actually the starter (10 year ) was given to me many months before I started milling my own grains but I only feed it my whole milled grains. The first loaf in the video was yeast bread. I am still perfecting my sourdough as it is a learning curve with whole grain flour.....but we love the whole grains and there is no going back! Thanks for watching!

    You will love Azure! We have been buying from Azure Standard for years and absolutely love it. We are a family that keeps our massive pantry, two refrigerators and four freezers filled to capacity at all times. Buying in bulk from Azure makes it possible to do that for a great price and have incredibly healthy food. Once I had built up the food supply like we wanted, I started ordering from Azure two or three times a year but huge orders. My next order will be about $2,000.00 but I won't need anything else until next year. We buy the Rumiano butter, several kinds of raw cheese, wheat berries, flour, sugar, canned goods, frozen fruits and vegetables, honey, maple syrup, vinegars, dry beans, potatoes, chocolate chips, cocoa powder, avocado oil, olive oil, coconut oil, coffee, dried fruits, spices/seasonings, Stacy's tortillas, coconut milk, onions, potatoes, oats, five gallon buckets/Gamma lids, gallon and half gallon jars/lids, and household cleaners....... We also buy bulk at Costco but everything else is from local farms as far as meat, chicken, eggs, produce, milk, etc. and my husband is a hunter. Basically, very little comes from regular grocery stores.

      Yes, I definitely already love it after the first haul....I just recently started milling my own grains which is what helped me find Azure. However, I have a long way to go getting our pantry and bulk foods organized! Most of our meats come from a local farm and we have chickens for eggs but I can't believe how many products are offered by them so my plan is now to "come up with a plan" LOL, to get our pantry and kitchen organized. Thanks so much for watching!

      @@realfoodprep Building up a bulk pantry takes time and money. The "rules" are.... 1. Buy what you know your family will actually eat. So many people will see that someone has a lot of canned tuna and think they must get it as well and they don't even eat tuna. 2. Store foods properly. Whether in air tight glass jars, food grade buckets, or mylar bags. It is imperative that you learn how to store bulk foods. 3. Organize, organize, organize. 4. Replace and rotate constantly. I honestly treat our stuff like I am a grocery store manager.

    You do such a great job! We have a ninja combo and love it!! Where do you get voodoo seasoning?

    • @realfoodprep
      @realfoodprep 2 месяца назад

      Thank you so much for watching! I get the seasoning at Rouses Market that is a local grocery in South MS, LA and AL. Amazon does have it, but very expensive on Amazon. You can probably find a similar one with the ingredients in the voodoo packet: INGREDIENTS: Onion, Spices, Carrots, Bell Peppers, Garlic, Lemon Powder [Sugar, Concentrated Lemon Oil, Citral and Silicon Dioxide (Free-Flow Agent)] and Tomato Powder. amzn.to/3KRpJaE
