      I would imagine the amount of teeth distributes the force with low power tranfer as well a low speed difference would be ideal

    I still don't know why bicycles don't have spring loading brakes that can be released with a button for extra speed or help with climbing hills. Is it because of safety concerns, one might e.g. unintentionally trigger the release and lose control over the bicycle and cause an accident?
