Too funny, dude! Enjoyed it, especially the camera drop!
Thanks, I think I’m funnier than I am sometimes. That’s what my wife says anyhow. 🤔
Are you a bit stoned in these videos? In a good way.
No. But I do recommend substance abuse to help get through my videos.
I don't mean to be mean, but this video is twice as long as it should be. You waffle on too much, don't get to the point, and repeat things. And your jokes were a turn off for me and just wasted time. Good luck with your channel. You can improve it an awful lot and will need to, to get some more subscribers.
Nice scenery. I too have doubts when it comes to ebird reports. I come up with grand plans to head out early but when the time comes, I crack an eyelid open and change my mind. It's brisk out there.
Thanks! Yes, unless I start seeing photos (even cell phone pics would do) attached along with the sightings, I take them all with a very big grain of salt.
With ebird, you do have to be very careful because birder will spot a bird from a 1000 miles away using a scope. Then you show up with a 100-500 lens and wonder why you don’t see that bird. So, yes, don’t trust those reports unless the come with pics that show good detail.
Pretty good stuff Isaiah. I like your work and I like your style….looking forward to seeing more of your videos. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! Glad you liked it.
You sir are quite entertaining and honest. I’m here for it - subscribed.😂

Self deprecating camera kit reviews for the win!
Penguins can’t fly 🤣
My 100-500 arrived via Fed Ex today. I got it refurbished from Cannon for $2429. Not a scratch on it and sharp as an axe! Excellent wildlife and sports photography lens.
Definitely a great lens especially if you can get in good condition below retail. 😃
The only problem I have with your review is the modifier “a little bit”. The RF 100-400 is a great buy for the price ($150 net to me with a trade in of a lens I rarely use). It is so light on my r7. However, in no way is it truly competitive with the RF 100-500. If you don’t have money for the 100-500, get the 100-400 and be happy. But if you do, you won’t regret a minute of shooting with that lens. It is fast focusing, sure-focusing, and give beautiful images. The files from the 100-500 don’t really need sharping most of the time, where as those from the 100-400 always need sharpening. And the files lack contrast and depth. You can definitely help them out in editing but they need that help to yield winners. The 100-500 is not a heavy lens unless you are really weak, which does come with age to all of us, but the 100-500 is way lighter than my EF 400 mm F4 DO Mk 2 or my EF 500 mm F4L Mk 2 lens. And I mean way lighter. The 100-400 is super light, but it is also super cheap with no weather sealing and it made of low-grade parts, so if you bang it on a door it might get knocked so far out of whack that it can’t focus. Still, I like having and won’t give it up unless I find some young person who really wants to do photography and needs a boost to get started. This is a great starter lens for anyone from the very young to the very old (in fact, I suggest this lens along with a R50 to older folks who need to get out and walk in the park and do a little bird watching at the same time. Killer for such applications. Okay, back to my point, the RF 100-500 is a LOT better than the 100-400, not just a little bit. And it cost a LOT more, as a result. Maybe you don’t perceive sharpness as I do, but I pixel-peep my own images all the time, often editing at 200% so I see the pixels that come out and the 100-500 is simply on another level. And when you add in the other elements that go into image quality, there is really no comparison. I know professional photographers who mainly use the 100-500 because it is such a versatile lens. While the 100-400 hold even more versatility, it does so at lower image quality that it is easily and always ruled out by pros. But it is still a great value and a great tool for many people in various stages of life. So we largely agree on this lens and its value, just a little bit different view of how to describe that value. And I enjoyed your silliness in this video. :). Take care!
I agree that the 100-500 is the better lens overall. Especially after using it quite a bit now. But the flamingo photo I posted in the video is honestly one of my favorite photos and I took it with the 100-400. I think the 100-500 really outshines when cropping like I said. Which is most of the time in wildlife. But if you’re just shooting birds at your feeder or at the zoo where you’re able to get fairly close and have control over the light, I think the 100-400 is very serviceable. If you’re going out in the field and want a more reliable professional lens, the 100-500 is obviously the way to go.
I tried to not go to the bathroom as you requested but there was a lot of water hitting the shore in the audio so I missed it. Do it again. Thanks.
You might want to change your orientation, till 12 minutes only your face, nothing about how far was the bird, which mm uses?
Thanks for giving me a chuckle when I needed it most, and helping me give up the guilt of allowing my soon to be ex to buy me a Canon R7....hey, his choice to become my ex, not mine, decided at 57 he needed to go to Asia (yes, he watched too many old guys on RUclips doing this) and pay much younger women to tell him they were in love with him while making clear to him if he doesn't keep paying and buying them things, they will disappear. Think maybe now he is beginning to see the wisdom of the saying 'A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush'! I will look forward to more chuckles and photographic adventures from you.
Glad you liked it!

I can't explain why I find your videos so da*n entertaining.....for the most part....until I saw the infant spit up on your sweatshirt in this one, at which point I gagged and clickded off.
0:58 in, would you mind sharing your video settings please? But if you don't shoot with a Canon I guess it wouldn't do me any good, or it might. If you would, share your camera settings for the photos too please. I just unboxed my RF 100-500 and still getting adjusted to shooting with only f/7.1 at times. I'm also interested in shooting video with this lens but I'm a complete newbie when it comes to that because I'm not a videographer. I kind of have a like/don't like relationship with your channel, but please don't take it to heart. I get rude comments occasionally but I don't want to make them on anyone's channel. (The belch at the beginning is a "don't like" by the way.)
I get it, my personality isn’t for everyone sometimes, including my wife. 😆 As for other questions, I use a Canon R7 for wildlife videos. I shoot in 4K 120 FPS (in crop mode on the R7 which gives even more reach, but it makes it harder to get stable shots handheld.) and I don’t bother shooting in C LOG for these videos just because there is a whole bunch of stuff you have to worry about. I also adjusted my autofocus settings for video, but don’t remember them off hand, but Jan Wegener has a R7 settings video I believe I used to setup my settings for video. If you keep you expose properly you will get good results for video. I handhold most of my video, which provides a lot of movement, but slowing the 120FPS in half will mitigate that. If you’re shaky, a tripod is better. But I do find my R6 II to be a bit more stable when the R7 with video. Not sure what camera you’re using. Hope that helped.
@@IsaiahMcAllisterImagery Oh, sorry, I thought I mentioned that I shoot with a Canon EOR R, and I'm pretty sure its IBS leaves much to be desired so I use a tripod more often than not. And for me, handholding with the 100-500 on can't be for long. Even my 70-200mm f/2.8 L gets heavy after a while.
Yeah, all I can say is just practice. There are plenty of videos on video. But you can get decent videos straight out of camera. The main focus is just getting settings correct. I misspoke actually, I shoot 60 FPS 4K but your settings are doubled so 1/50 for 24FPS and 1/120 for 60FPS. A variable ND filter may also be a good investment after you get into video.
@@IsaiahMcAllisterImagery Thanks.
Nice Osprey shots! I try to get a local Osprey in flight at a National Park about 1.5 hours from my house. No luck yet. After a day of getting skunked, my wife and I were having dinner at the park lodge with the sun setting. The Osprey flew through the sunset with a huge fish in its talons. Classic shot missed, but beautiful to see. I’d love your flight shots. Nice work!
OMG. I don’t know how the You Tube Gods pointed me to your channel, but I really needed the laughs. At first I was like mud, what mud. I’m a 61 year old woman and this guy worries about this little bit of mud? Then I realized your style is seeped in satire.LOL. Then came the beaver song. Hello! I shoot with that lens and absolutely love it. Macro-ish with min. focus distance and decent on the long end. Sharp and weather proofed. I’m subscribing just to see what you do next. Happy Shooting!

wow! Are you just a whiner? How many minutes into your video do we get pertinent information on this lens? Consider getting to the point in less than 2 minutes. I was hoping for some detailed information facts on this lens. Umm, is not a word! I quit at 10 minutes in, you just can't get to the point. I was hoping that your video was informative... I was wrong!

I have found that the Canon R7's shutter sounds like a Great Egret to the Merlin app. Merlin should never be trusted as a "sighting."
Yeah, I feel like you should have to post bare minimum a cell phone photo. 😆 And yes, the R7’s shutter is slightly less noisy than a Tommy Gun… by just a bit.
#Ethel is a liar 🤣🤣
She really is.
It takes about 3 seconds to trick Merlin into hearing the great horn 🦉 😂

Just a suggestion Isaiah. Why don't you get a cotton vest to carry you camera instead of carrying the camera and lens like a baby.😂
