I remember so many days. I feel the Holy Spirit and then I'd read in the Bible. When Jesus felt his father's disappearance from his heart and I thought I've never felt that and then 1 day I woke up and I felt different and I really thought. That god had abandoned me because i've got the mouth of a sailor, a Horrible temper when i'm mad... I pray And ask for forgiveness every night for these things. But I give the shirt off my back for anybody who needs it.I'm a whistle blower for injustice when I work at the VA hospital, I stand up for anybody that needs help without a question if it's within my power... But the lost feeling when you can't feel god's presence or the holy spirit is devastating
I am sorry that you are experiencing that. I have had seasons where I have felt that way, some longer than others. I have been angry with God because of it, yet it did not change my belief in Jesus and what he did for me. I remained faithful, continuing to read my Bible, listen to sermons, and do devotionals until eventually, those seasons ended. I can tell you God loves you and it is a love far beyond anything we can fathom. I know something that has helped me is to just sit quietly, without distractions, and put on some soaking worship music, then I spill out my heart to Him and ask for the Holy Spirit to come and fill me, to comfort me, and just let Him know that I NEED to feel his presence.
