Very good!
Hey mate, Great content, the link no longer seems to work, where do you get your catches from now?
@@ivan.ranger Yard Empire They are based in Brendale, QLD. Same company, they just rebranded…
I couldn’t get my screws undone. Watched your video and did the heat and nail punch method. Worked perfectly. Thanks so much for the video!
Very helpfull Thx Canada
great resource, thank you. Very clearly explained and clearly demonstrated.
Thank you 🙂
JEWS THE NAZI'S OF 2024 WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT. MAYBE THIS IS THE REASON THEY HAVE BEEN PERSECUTED FOR THEIR WHOLE EXISTENCE.... DISGUSTING JEWS THAT SUPPORT THIS SH&T.
Back end of a hammer 🔨 also worked for me.
You need to measure the shaft size before you order, there’s two different sizes, you don’t want to get caught.
Which etch primer did you use?
To be honest, I’m not entirely sure.. I’ve used a few different brands and have had great results with all of them.. At the end of the day I’m not sure it matters but I try not to buy the cheapest but also not the most expensive..
Well done mate, really enjoyed all your vids so far, have learnt so much. I’ve just purchased a Rover 45 17” twin, not sure I’ll do a full Reno, but have learnt so much to be able to get it looking and running great. Thanks again, you really make it look easy. 👍
I know this is probably insane but can you weld engine engage clutch assembly up...as mine continues too burn cork up.....I know probably insane
That is not a good idea.. I would not recommend.. Pull your clutch further off your engine shaft.. or adjust your cone so it pushes in further.. or maybe both?
Do you have a backlapping video?
Hey mate I did what you said in the vice with the bearing but the out side of the bearing come apart. Will everything be fine as it spins fine when all together.
Hi, Nice video! When you move the height bar to the adjustable side and there is a gap, how do you know that it is not the front roller that is out! As that has been a problem on some machines. Thanks.
This is an upgraded front roller which has a bearing installed in each end, accompanied by a new front roller shaft and bracket. This ensures the front roller is true.
Hello i have an old suffolk swift push mower. I am still confused, does back lapping also sharpen the bedknife or does this only sharpen the cylinder.
It will do a bit on both.. Think of backlapping as liquid sandpaper being squished between the cylinder and bedknife which results in sharpening.
Hey mate, I’ve been build engines for a long time now and all I can say that will make your life easier and reduce the risk of damaging the gears, bearings and the collar. Throw the bearings and the collars in the freezer for a while to temporally shrink the components to help them slide in easier. You can also but the gears in the oven for a few minutes at like 80 degrees Celsius to avoid changing the tempering of the steel it just needs to be warm to the touch NOT HOT and this will temporarily expand the gears. So then the bearings (straight from the freezer) will just drop in without needing to hit them too much, if at all. Then let that settle to room temperature. Rinse and repeat with the collar to the bearing and any other press fit components. Other than that, loving the videos mate!
Very informative. is the rear roller adjustment process the same for a rover thoroughbred.
I’m not sure Peter. I personally have never owned a rover thoroughbred.
Hi fellas , I’m a gardener and was given one of these by a client , it’s in fantastic condition, paint is spotless and runs perfectly, any idea on how much it’s worth?
It probably depends on your location. I’m in Brisbane and a restored one may fetch $300-350
Mate do you know the oil capacity ?
Of the engine? I believe it’s 600ml.. But definitely check the engine manual..
Hi Scott I’m interested to know where abouts you are, I noticed the Aussie accent. I’m in Melbourne and I have an old Rover edger I need restored.
Hey Mate, Unfortunately I don’t offer restorations for others.. I’m also located in Brisbane. Best of luck locating someone to help you out..
Thanks for a great explanation champion, I'm not a painters arsehole but your video has given me the confidence to have a crack at a couple of my toolboxes. Legend cheers 🍻
Thanks Mate.. I’m definitely no painter either but sometimes the best way to learn is by doing.. There is a comment below by MEGAJD which helped me a lot.. Spray the corners and tight spots first..
Did you think the paint at all?
Disregard that comment, I scrolled down and found my answer. Thanks for the video
Awesome resto mate!
Thanks Mate, Your videos are great too :)
@@SBRenos Cheers! Slowly coming together! Would you recommend a sealed or self aligning bearing for the drive shaft?
Great video mate just wondering how did you clean rear rooller what did you use thanx
Thanks mate.. I had it professionally sand blasted and then paint it in the colourbond colour “Shale Grey” 👍
Do you have a catcher for the groomer? Or not necessary?
Really well put together videos mate. Thanks for your efforts.
great video mate. Im inspired to tune my reel to perfection
Hey mate. Whats the best way to remove the black plastic handle on the depth adjuster? Thanks
Hmmm.. Mine just slide off easily.. However I have had the handle bar grips on a model 45 stuck before, I managed to get them off buy shooting compressed air up them.. Hopefully that helps..
Learn how to press bearings in champ. You never press them in from the inner race.Always press them in from the outer race. That’s where you want the pressure to avoid damage to the bearing. You can press them in with a large g-clamp too.
HE'S BACK!!!
Yeah, I got a bit busy there for a while.. I should have a few more videos coming..
Man you have alot of planes fly over you in that time lapse
Haha.. tell me about it... I probably should have cut out the sound and overlayed some music..
@@SBRenoseveryone does music man- good to keep it realz and leave it how you did it 👍
Hey bud, do you recall the length of the PVC pipe needs to be? From my understanding it’s 32mm diamond pipe ?
hey mate i just bought one from mow parts oz for my sb45..i wasnt gonna bother hooking up thottle cable just using the briggs stratton controlson mower - what do you think will i have to connect the throttle or will that be fine...cheers mate love the videos they have been very helpful
Hi mate what did you do in the end? I’m looking at it all at the second.
Well explained good job. 👍
bloody great stuff mate been following, look forward to the next video
Crikey, heat up the clutch. Bearing will probably fall in.
Just wondering mate how often should you drain your oil and change it? Is it a once a year thing after the mower has been sitting stagnant for a few months over winter?
It should say in your engines manual.. They base it off how many hours use (I think) I just change it once a year..
Awesome video mate, super easy Just 1 question, is the brass thrust pad directional? Or does it go on any way aslong as the hole is facing up?
Thanks so much, I was heating mine but not enough. And never thought to use side cutters. Came right out using your method and heating 5 mins map gas
I put an ice cube on the key only and used the cutters
Hey buddy what size is the guard scews
Hey Mate… Unfortunately I filmed this to long ago and I do not remember..
You just saved me a world of pain thanks!
What about when it’s sheared off and the gear is still on the shaft
Appriciate the effort you go to in your vids mate. Cheers!
Great vid mate, thanks for taking the time to share it! Any tips for somebody who has jammed their reel into the bedknife at full throttle? Made a big rookie error and went over edge of concrete and it pushed the bedknife into the reel... it's a protea 20"
Oh man that sucks... Unfortunately I dont think there is an easy fix. That would be something a professional grinder will need to fix.
@@SBRenos after close inspection, 1 of the blades on the reel is both bent and the weld is cracked. Taking it to a pro grinder this week to amend and adjust. Thanks for your reply!
Very nice build mate. I'm curious about the paints you are using, what colour are you using on the handle bars? Is it the same as the silver on the brings motors? Another Dupli-Colour? Also like to know what colour the rear rollers are they look great. Cheers
Great Video Jordan! Very much enjoy the content. quick question for you mate. What parts do you prepare yourself vs sending off to the sandblaster? I noticed that you have a small blasting unit in the garage. Do you use it for your builds at all? Pros vs cons if you do? Happy Easter to you and the family!
Hey mate… I send all the big items off to get professionally sand blasted and I keep all the small items and do them myself.. It doesn’t really save time but it does save money.. if I have a spare hour or so I can pop out to my shed, blast and prep a item.. I enjoy the process and gratification of restoring things myself..
Helpful content mate ! In I future though I would be pressing the bearing into the housing from the outer race not the inner race to avoid damaging the bearing.
Are them side nuts all 14mm?
Half Inch
Excellent video Jordan. Can't wait to see it up and running! Cheers for sharing.
