Great work! I've watched all your videos on the XJ Cafe Racer rebuild, and the work looks amazing. I still can't wrap my head around how you managed the electrical system. Regarding brake bleeding, I've heard that you can simply top up the brake fluid and leave the brake lever pressed against the handlebars with a rubber band overnight. I also bought a 2nd engine, the original engine the bearing had given up in the gear box so I had to split the cases I finally dismantled it but removing the head was a nightmare, and took weeks, as I didn't want to damage the seal between the 2 parts, as they are bother aluminium. Even one of the rods to conect them both together snapped because of rust freezing them both together

Great video. Does the exhaust wrap serve any purpose other than athestics?

Attempting this at the moment myself but falling at the first hurdle, having trouble with the gears.Basically I have both the shift drum and the transmission in yet I can't select all gears and when it doesn't click into place the front sprocket just turns as though it's in neutral. Any tips on installing the shift drum, shift fork and gears, I should add all forks are in correct and the dogs are seated in the shift drum groves correctly. Great video btw

Tengo una Yamaha Xj 600 igual a la suya, y no encuentro manual de taller, me podrías decir que juego de holgura en mm, lleva en las válvulas de admisión y en las válvulas de escape?? Gracias saludos

Nice vid, mine is not starting, and wasn't running fine before. Starter goes round, nothing there with battery jumped. Pushing doesn't work, can't even move the backwheel in 1 on the stand. I hope not, but am guessing a bearing isn't sitting wel.

I got a bike cheap cos the bearing had collapsed in the gear train...needed the engine splitting...so normally not worth a garage working on it Dismantled everything so far

I wonder what they did with the front cowling (fairing) when they removed it - I've been looking to buy a replacement for awhile now, same color scheme as FJ600.

WHERE is episodes 1 and 2? I'm doing my 85 FJ600 that I've had since '89. Cleaned my carbs today. HOPEFULLY, I can get it started tomorrow! NEVER MIND...found them...I had the same colors.
