Hi! I recently apply for my ETA to enter in Sri Lanka, received an email with the ETA approval but didn’t receive a document with the Visa… when I check the ETA status online says “ETA is approved”. It’s not strange to don’t receive a Document?

Thanks for the video. We are currently booked to stay at Sapphire Sea for four nights in the beginning of January. I guess that hotel is even farther south then you were at the end of the video. Is it too far from "everything" you would say? And do you have any experiences/opinions about that specific hotel that you would like to share?

I'm Italian and I saw that now we can apply Visa online but on which site should I do it? because I've found 3 different websites. my flight will be from Italy to Abu Dhabi and then after a long stopover in Abu Dhabi I will have a flight to Colombo. Thank you so much for your helpful video on RUclips. We are USA cruise travelers visiting Sri Lanka Dec 2024. Our cruise staff keeps telling us to get a transit visa for the two ports we will be calling on in Sri Lanka. I have tried the new site and the “transit” option says it’s too early to to apply. How soon can we apply for an evisa? We applied for the Vietnam visa (which is where we will go after ending our cruise) and got them in 3 days. Help!
Happy to hear that you find my videos helpful 🙏 Since the system is changing a lot these days, I would wait a while before applying. Apply about 1 week before you travel, you will get confirmation about visa within 24 hours (normally within a few hours) 👍
Hi there, thank you for your video. I think we got same cruise With Pauline. The transit visa is just two days, but the cruise will stay two ports for two and half days. Can we still apply the transit visa? Or we have to apply 30 days tourist visa.
@@Leonliu-kx8iu I am not 100% sure about rules for cruise passengers, normally our guests stay for weeks here in Sri Lanka. However if the cruise-line tells to arrange transit visa, that is what they been informed. 😊👍

Hello. Yes it was announced as a suggestion, however not approved yet. We just had a new president elected and I doubt there will be any News about this before the new parlament is set in November. We will just wait and see
Great if they introduce the free visa system, think it would encourage more travellers?, but not the end of the world if they dont!, im just glad that at least i can get a visa now, in time for november, so all is fine, i followed your tutorial for visa application last year... and all went through smoothly, thanks

The free visa agreement is an agreements between some Asian countries (much like EU ) nothing to do with communism.. Agree on the tech side of the webpage could be improved though…

I can of course not guarantee for safety here on anywhere. However, I consider Sri Lanka very safe (if not I would not live here with my children ;) After the election I sense a really positive, and optimistic vibe around. Have not heard about any terror threats. From where did you read that?

@@melidelgado2836 What is your country? For most people passport is enough. Sometimes they ask for return ticket. If asked to prove you have funds (very unlikely) to show a credit card is enough.
@@SriLankaTravelateaseare you sure they usually don't ask for return ticket? My home country is Slovenia. I'm coming to SL tomorrow and I plan to stay until December or January. I don't know exactly when I will go home.

after the 2nd month 30 day extension ....i have to leave the country to re enter. No issuing of 3 month or 6 month visas as far as I have found out. So Chennai for 6 hrs to fly back the same day!

Hi Merete, Nice vlog. I came across your channel. I was there in Feb 24 and went on the Ramayana trail (pleasure & pilgrimage), organized everything myself. Colombo - Negombo - Chilaw - Anuradhapura - Trincomalee - Sigriya/Dambulla - Kandy - Nuwara Eliya - Thissamaharama - Galle and Back to Colombo. I fell in love with the country and maybe retire there. I will visit again but travel slowly this time and hopefully stay at your hotel. My only issue was the taxis between cities which were quite expensive. PS I'm British Indian based in the UK.
