Many thanks for this excellent video. Just done the driver’s side on an Evoque with an external keyed lock. Much easier with the external handle removed. I left all the actuator cables (3) attached. Got both motors on EBay for £15. ‘Almost’ looking forward to the next lock failing just for the satisfaction of mending it!!

Hi Iain. Great video, started my driver side manifold relacement this evening, and did you have to remove the solid fuel rail that supplies the injector pipes. If so what socket did you use please? Thanks Gary

Great video! If the actuator has failed in locked position, is it possible to remove door actuator without opening the door? My Rear right door is closed and will not open no matter what i try. I’ve removed interior panel and window regulator. Pulled on everything my fingers can touch and it won’t open. Is my only option to actually handsaw the latch off? Thank you

pig of a job ,,, well done. tip ,,, jam a rag down the bulkhead where the battery tray sits , otherwise ratchets etc have a way of ending up in the gear box belly pan ,,, dont ask me how I know this.

Ordered a motor from you and completed the job today on the back door passenger side. The most difficult part I found was getting the actuator, and the door handle out. But now it's all sorted, now I need to do the same on the driver's door!

I got same problem but some garages asking for nearly £1000 to change it.

I always find it funny when people say that a C30 is a Focus underneath as though it’s a bad thing… that era of focus was a great car… possibly a little bland outside of the ST/RS variants, but they’re a dependable and fantastic handling car… and the C30 adds a layer of comfort and luxury over that. Mine is a D5 (Polestar optimised) R design with the same plush leather as the one you’re driving there… it’s done 165k but it’s been properly cared for with bushes and suspension components replaced when needed, and the exterior and interior look like new still. Mine is pre-facelift, but has the Xenon headlamps and I love the way it looks, the R design kit looks superb on them in my opinion. Mine is also keyless which means you don’t have to have the keys hanging out of the dashboard (unlike my C70)… it’s a nice option if you can find it, I hate having a bunch of keys hanging from the front of the dash.

I've recently bought a L319 disco 4 65 reg which has a sdv6 engine. Are these cracked manifolds common across all models and years? Mine has 66k miles currently. I thought your video very informative but hope I don't get the problem!
