I am disabled person, I currently use a wheelchair for movement, but for short distances, I can move on my feet, with the support of a crutch, or under the supervision of a companion. In July 2021, my daughter purchased and paid for 4 plane tickets for me, my wife, herself, and her husband to fly with TAROM on August 27, 2021, from Bucharest to Oradea and on August 31, 2021, from Oradea to Bucharest. On August 2, 2021, I sent by email to TAROM Notification following Art. 7 of Regulation (EC) No 1107/2006 of The European Parliament and of The Council of 5 July 2006 concerning the rights of disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility when traveling by air, in which I requested TAROM to provide me with the assistance services provided for in Annex 1 to the Regulation. TAROM refused to transport me claiming that the ATR 42/72 planes that fly on this route, from a constructive point of view, cannot transport disabled people. Considering the reason cited by TAROM, I tried to find out from the ATR aircraft manufacturer to what extent the ATR 42/72 aircraft meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) no. 1107/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of July 5, 2006. Unfortunately, they have a contact system without email and cannot confirm their statements. The fact is that they did not answer me. Then on 13.08.3023, I sent a letter with confirmation of receipt to Mrs. Nathalie Tarnaud Laude - Chief Executive Officer, at the address on their website ATR, 1 Allée Pierre Nadot, 31712 BLAGNAC Cedex, FRANCE. I did not receive any answer.
