have you been to beaumont-hamel it more trenches but the grass has grown over them and you can also visit sunken lane where the 1st Lancashire Fusiliers were on the first day of the Somme. There is also the hawthorn ridge crater that you can get up to but it has been grown over by trees

Hard to believe today! But men lived in these trenches for months on end, with the mud and the rats. Both my grandfathers were in that war, good that some of the trenches are still there, so we know a bit what it looked like! Good video👍
