Just depends on the tide. Incoming tide I will just spread my lines out and get them near where I’m marking fish. Usually start at 25-45 on my counters . Low tide/ outgoing tide you want to be closer to the bottom generally

Sounds like there was lots of small (jack) chinook around - that's probably why you had so many takedowns that didn't stick.

Yellow orange spinners on short bus chrome, was our ticket today. Also hit 2 on the black jack spinfish 2.5 with hootchie....

still no word on where the coho are ?

Spent time in all the places you did and saw exactly the same, dead. Sounds like we must have left right before the bite started above the bridge on WA side. We left about 1:40 pm because it was dead up there. Damn!

Thanks for the report! What would you say is the hookup to land ratio down there? Not bites that don't stick, but playing a fish to land whether kept or not. 50%, more, less?

Being selective? Come on Tom, percentage of fish landed and released is figured around 20% mortality rate, should have bonked and kept, chance they died anyway. 😳

Had a similar thing happen last year fishing Coho in the middle of September. Rod went off but it was acting funny. Reeled my gear up and hooks someone else's braid that had broken off. Hand lined in a really nice 360 flasher, mini cut plug and a nice Coho. Only way the story would have been better would have been if it was a hatchery. It wasn't so we had to let the Coho go. Thanks for all the reports. Really apricate it.
