Thanks for reminding me, I took my wife to Pwllheli a few years back. The second worse holiday of my life! Haven took over from the tornado (storm not fighter jet) in destroying a great camp. No chair lifts or train to the beach, so my wife had to struggle through overgrown vegetation with a walking stick. No fairground, nothing for free anymore, except the indoor pool, where I caught an ear infection. My advice is, if anybody is expecting to relive a holiday of the 70's/80's, forget it and avoid it like the plague!

@@markthomas4254 Not been back there since I was a child. It was those Chalets back then I think though my memory of the accommodation is poor.

@Caroline_Tyler no no the chalets are mostly exactly the same since being built. They gave a bit of a spruce up a good few years back by putting double glazing in but there are still plenty with the old wood frames 😬

My family members were actually extras that appeared on the movie 😊 Prestatyn born and bred, still live here now. We actually went to the reunion of holiday on the buses this year, its amazing when you watch the film back very little has changed. though I think that was part of the charm, unfortunately it was kept very well maintained or clean. @@markthomas4254 yes I have been it was there in the nineties to 2000 when Fred Pontin had it. I went in the best era best hay days prime . Took my daughter with my late mother and my Down’s syndrome brother then my other brother who has kids he tagged along and came with us. My daughter has the best memories fond memories she still talks about Pontin till this day and she 30 next month. That’s how much pontins back in those days gave her the best childhood memories

@@markthomas4254 so your saying now it’s closed there’s no security keeping guide a eye on it. At the entrance gates where they usually based. Anyone can get into the building. Tbh my daughter feels like going on the site just for one last time, and go back in time and go to the chalets and the entertaining rooms all the rooms she walked in just one last time. She recently lost her gran my late mother and my late mother is the one who took her here so it’s hit home all this. First her gran and then pontins where her gran took her.

I didn't see any security its all locked up. You would have to climb the gates/metal fences to gain access. I used to work there in the 90s for 1 season it was the best days I've had. I was only in there 4 weeks ago playing snooker ,as I only live 5 mins away. I have drone footage on my channel of pontins in the summer. If you would like to view.

You would be surprised how many people used to go. I live around the corner from pontins. The ques on check in day were huge

We also visited the grave site of one of the original beatles Stuart Sutcliffe which is on the wirral. Maybe try tie Paul McCartney tour abroad into a mini break one day 🤔

Hi. I stayed there as a package holiday. Flights hotel with all meals. Hotel only was £200 for 3 nights. About €230

It's a very nice place, From the hotel Altea old and new town are just down the road 15 minutes walk away. Across the road from the hotel is the local train station. It takes you to benidorm. We went the other way to calpe to climb this massive rock mountain. It cost 5 euro return for to people to benidorm or calpe. Very cheap only takes 20 mins. There's a massive waterfall that's about a 2 hour walk, worth the visit though. If you haven't subscribed could you please. It Helps my channel 👍
