2024 Can Am Spyder F3 Limited Demo Ride
Просмотров 6 тыс.4 месяца назад
I failed to record the first part of the ride, but this is about the 2nd half of it. I am chatting with my brother on our Sena headsets while recording, but could only record my half of the conversation. This was the first time I had ever ridden a Spyder, and absolutely loved it. I thought it would be boring after riding motorcycles for the past 10 years or so, but it was a lot more fun than I ...

Broke my PB Largemouth in a retention pond!
Просмотров 705 лет назад
Went to a local retention pond with my buddy Chris. The bite was slow, but I was able to break my personal best on a black/purple swim jig. It was the only fish I caught all day, but it was an incredible experience.

Just clipped together 3 days-worth of catches since there wasn't enough content for 3 separate videos.

Fishing a small neighborhood pond. It was so small I wasn't even sure there were any fish in it. Ended up getting a 3 pound large-mouth on a weightless Texas rigged BPS Wacky Stik-O worm in black/blue. Northern Illinois, April 1, 2019. Air temp about 46*F, 2 weeks after the ice melted so the water is still super cold.

Just fishing my neighborhood pond. One solid bite but no landed fish. Mainly just used today to test out the GoPro and start learning basic video editing.
So butch “rip it”
I could see myself driving this little expensive thing everyday, so neat
Your review was the tipping point for me over getting the f3 limited !!! Great review. I got a “new” 23 and it’s amazing
@@wedabrowns Thank you! I'm bummed I didn't get the first 10-15 minutes of the demo ride filmed because I missed my actual first impressions, but I think the rest of the video turned out ok. It was my first time ever riding one and I fell in love with it. The F3 limited is definitely going to be my next bike at some point.
How much side to side sway is there? If any.
I found it on EBay, thank you !
I would like to get your speaker panel for your Ryker, but I don’t know what it is called or where to get it? How much does it cost? W. Michael Pinket
Hello! Unfortunately this was a Can Am Demo event. The Ryker isn't mine, it's just one they gave me to test ride for the event. It might be an oem accessory, but I'm not sure on any of the details.
That's a factory audio part and it's 600 or 700
Nice ride...
Glad you enjoyed the F3. I have an F3L and Love It!!! Hi Purple 😇 These are great riding and handling machines. And with a few suspension upgrades, so fun to ride! Better get one!
Glad you enjoyed your ride! I've let many two wheeled riders test my 2018 and now my 2023 and they all said what you did...different than they expected! I refer to that takeoff as the Spyder Launch.😁😁I can take my hubby on his HD Ultra Limited in the quarter mile. Well, there are times when it's not like a couch...rough roads with crazy uneven pavement are a different story...my hubby could go faster on his HD in the Yukon and Alaska than I could on my F3. 8800 RPM's is where the nanny kicks in 😁😁
Hello PurpleOnThree! I've watched many of your videos, and it was surprising to see your comment. I appreciate you taking the time! I really enjoyed this demo ride and definitely plan on getting my own at some point. It was a great experience, and I can't wait to ride one again.
@@MRJ7986 Thank you for your reply! I'm so glad your video popped up in my feed today. It put a smile on my face to hear the joy that that demo ride brought you! When I get a chance I will watch your ryker demo. And I really appreciate you watching my channel when you have the opportunity. Did you happen to ride an RT? 💜🤗
what are you using for audio - I started doing a vlogg also youtube.com/@life_is_short888x8?si=WIqCHVgOfcZkN8Al
Nice! I own a Ryker but would love to hop on the Spyder.
The 2nd half of this demo ride was on a Ryker Sport, I posted another video right after this one. I'm glad I was able to ride both back to back. I was impressed with the smoothness of the CVT and fun factor, but I definitely enjoyed the F3 Limited more due to size/comfort. It was a blast to zoom around on though.
@@MRJ7986 Just finished watching that one too! I want a Spyder, would lean more towards the F3S (sportier), but price really slows me down LOL. Thanks for sharing your experience. Was enjoyable to watch.
@@brentgath4447 Thank you! This demo ride was the first time I had ever been on a 3 wheel vehicle, so it was a really cool experience to see how they felt. It was cool to see how user friendly and easy they were to ride for someone who had never been on one. I've had motorcycles over the past 10 years, but as I've gotten older I found myself drawn more to the Can Ams since they just looked really relaxed and comfortable while still being fun. I liked them a lot more than I even thought I would. It might take a year or two, but my next ride will probably be an F3 Limited when my wallet allows it. I don't think I could justify buying another 2 wheel bike when I had this much fun on the Can Ams.
@@MRJ7986This makes sense. Ive always said people who make fun of these rides have never ridden them. I’ve had my motorcycle license for 33 years. I’ve always owned sport bikes. However, three years ago at 46 I was diagnosed with an inner ear disease that has kept me from being able to safely balance on two wheels. I really was depressed for a year until a Can Am dealer opened near me. I immediately went on a demo ride with the Ryker. I was hooked right away!! No fears of losing balance. I only wish I had tried the Spyder prior to pulling the trigger on the Ryker. But I’m just thankful I have one of them and can still get out there and ride and have the wind in my face. Huge quality of life for me.
It’s like sitting on a phucin couch and driving around!!! I like that!!! 💯😂😂
I was really blown away by the comfort, handling, and ease of use. It really did feel like I was cruising around in a recliner/couch. I wish I got the first half of the ride on camera, but I wasn't able to start my gopro in time. This was my first time ever on a Spyder after riding 2 wheels for the past 10 years, but the next "bike" I buy will definitely be a Spyder now.
@@MRJ7986 i’ve got my eyes on a 2023 RT brand new for 20,000 flat but I like the sportiness of the F3 T . They also have one of them for 22,500-2023 brand new. There is a Can-Am dealership in my town. Which one would you buy if you had the choice?
@@jeremy8829 Good question! I sat on a few RT's, but didn't get a chance to ride one. The RT felt more like I was sitting on it, instead of sitting in it, as it has a higher seat. Higher seating position, and the large floor boards gave me more of a "sitting on top with my legs under me" type of feeling. The F3T had more forward controls and a lower seat height. I preferred the seating position of the F3 Limited over the RT personally. If you're familiar with bikes, and mid vs. forward controls...I would say the RT feels a bit more like being on a goldwing with you sitting up higher and your knees bent more 90*, and the F3 Limited felt more like being on a Road Glide with your feet farther out in front of you, and a lower, more "in the bike" feeling seat.
@@MRJ7986 I’ve only sat on them but I agree. I like sitting in the F3 vs on the RT. Thanks for your input!
How do you like that windscreen? Where does the air hit you? How tall are you and is the seat the stock seat? lol I hope I asked enough questions.
Thank you for your questions! The screen is the 10" Freedom Shields. It was better than stock, but it's not tall enough to block enough wind from my head. My issue with the upgraded screens for the stock fairing is they rub against the clutch line and you need to put foam or tape for protection. it's never a perfect fit. I tried the taller 15" gustafsson shield and had to return it because it pressed against my brake reservoir too. I ended up going with the 19" El Paso shield and mounting hardware from Memphis Shades. I really wanted to keep the oem fairing on the bike because I love the looks, but the windscreen options just don't have the fit I am looking for. I am 5'11" and with the 19" Memphis Shades El Paso, it pushes the wind at right about my hair line, so it deifnitely keeps the wind blast off my face, and my helmet is much quieter. Not silent by any means, but better. As far as my seat goes, it's a Saddleman Explorer seat. It's firm but looks great and I find it very comfortable on longer rides. It's probably a tad taller than the stock seat, I honestly do not remember. It's unfortunately I had to ditch the oem fairing, but the Memphis shades dedicated screen is a sturdy, taller option with much better fit than any of the screens I tried on the stock fairing. The good thing about the Memphis Shades screen, is once you have the mounting hardware, you can swap out different screens in seconds. So you can have a taller screen for highway trips, or take it off the quick release mounts and put on a shorter sport screen for around town. I'll probably just rock this 19" touring-style screen full time and see how it goes.
@@mrjapps9266 got ya, thanks. Have you looked into a set of pull-back risers? I did the 4-inch pull-back and also the Explorer RS with the backrest. Now I am looking into taller windscreens. Just a heads up, my bike is a '21 and I checked the throttle blade yesterday for any oil build-up since I just hit the 1,000-mile mark. It had not puddled up any but there was a nice coat of oil blow-by on it. So I am about to tap the trans cover, add a check valve, and filter. I am trying to relieve some of the excessive crankcase pressure, without affecting the vacuum from the factory setup. We all know how much it helps to have a crankcase with a little bit of vacuum on it, with ring seating especially. Thanks for all of the info.
@@jasonisdn I actually just got my 4" pullback risers in a couple weeks ago, just haven't had a chance to install them yet. Waiting for nicer weather before I start messing around in the garage. It's been in the 40's and rainy in the Chicago area lately, so I'm just patiently waiting. I can't wait to see how the risers feel! Definitely seems like a worthwhile upgrade just to sit a tad more upright, so I'm looking forward to getting them installed. My bike is a '21 as well, thanks for the info! I just had my 1,000 mile service done at the dealer a couple months ago, they said everything checked out. I'll keep an eye on it though. I'm thinking about doing an air cleaner and a stage 1 flash this season, but I'll just wait and see if I feel like spending the money on it.
