This is an experiment at 60 frames/second. For some reason it does not display in high definition when uploaded directly to Facebook. The quality seems to be better on RUclips.

This exceptionally beautiful A cappella tune combines a male soloist with humming. I am familiar with its words, but the tune is new to me. You can share this video via email by copying the link in the URL search bar and pasting it into the body of your email.

This fellow flapped down at the opposite side of the pond. I scurried to my car and was fortunate that he stayed put.
The Mennonite Anthem

This song has been dubbed “606.” Some fondly have named it “The Mennonite Anthem.” In my opinion, this Altar of Praise Chorus is one of the best Mennonite-based groups. The organ does not over-power the vocalists.

Altar of Praise Choir was exclusively a cappella until this album with perfect organ support was produced. The instrument does not overwhelm the vocalists.

Do you know where to get the sheet music for this?
Thanks for your reply. I would try MennoMedia Services. The Mennonite Hour is no longer in existence. www.mennomedia.org/contact-us/
Conrad, was you father a pastor of a city church in Steelton, PA during the 60’s? I traveled with my father Paul Bender for a weekend event around 1965? Thanks for sharing your talent on utube.
Yes! Is your middle name Scott? Thanks for your comment.
No my middle name is Paul.
OK...I knew of a john Scott Bender when I was a lot younger. Maybe the first name was Jon. Thanks. I am sure I met your father. @@johnbender1596
Do I have the right "Paul" here? My maternal Uncle Walter Shank served as minister at Maple Grove many years ago. In some way we share some kind of connection. Bender, Paul E. (1925-2009) Mennonite Weekly Review obituary: 2009 Jun 1 p. 6 Birth date: 1925 Jul 9 text of obituary: PAUL E. BENDER Paul E. Bender, 83, of Belleville, Pa., died May 13, 2009. He was born July 9, 1925, to Lewis and Barbara (Miller) Bender in Kalona, Iowa. He married Leona M. Miller on Dec. 10, 1949. He served in Civilian Public Service for three years in Terry, Mont., during World War II, attended Eastern Mennonite University and Penn State University, and was ordained for ministry in 1949. He taught school in Salisbury, Pa., while operating a watch repair shop in Grantsville, Md. He moved to Belleville to be principal at Belleville Mennonite School, pastored several churches, including Allensville Mennonite Church for 22 years, and owned and operated a watch and clock repair business and a tax preparation service. He was a member of Allegheny Mennonite Conference since 1948, a 19-year member of Big Valley Mennonite Historical Society, and an active member of Barrville Mennonite Church, serving as elder, teaching Sunday school and occasionally preaching. He enjoyed his family, friends, astronomy, biking and genealogy. Survivors include his wife, Leona; six children, Lois Arnold of Bronx, N.Y., John Bender and his wife, Mildred, of Greensboro, N.C., Roy Bender and his wife, Connie, of Lancaster, Titus Bender and his friend, Amy, of Belleville, Miriam Ferguson and her husband, John, of Mechanicsville, Va., and Loren Bender and his wife, Judy, of New Holland; a brother, Daniel Bender and his wife, Ora; four sisters, Nina Yoder, Mary Miller and her husband, Lloyd, Vera Yoder, and Gladys Fisher and her husband, Robert; a sister-in-law, Frieda Bender; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Ray; a grandson, Ryan Bender; a son-in-law, Roger Arnold; and a brother, Clarence. Services were held at Maple Grove Mennonite Church. Burial was in Allensville Mennonite Cemetery.
Conrad, yes that is my family. I remember spending time with one of you boys while dad was in Steelton for a weekend. Your family was kind to me a stranger, and I was fascinated by the city environment as I had always been in rural church settings. I may be able to look up dads sermon journal and find the dates he was there. We moved to VA and then NC as I was a Field Service Rep for New Holland for 30+ years, and now retired. The memories of the outreach of the Mennonites in that time remain. I also believe that your sister Shirley was a teacher at Belleville Mennonite School, however that was after I graduated in 71.
RUclips algorithms smiled on me today and led me here 😅 Thank you!
