And the people of South Korea live in a prosperous nation today because of all the brave men and women around the world who contributed towards fighting against the communist forces. And the poor peoples in North Korea (and a very large portion of the peoples of China, especially the Muslim population there) suffer in extreme poverty under harsh authoritarian rule where they have essentially zero rights and freedoms. The peoples of China and North Korea who prop up Kim Jong Un and Xi Jinping and laud the achievements of these oppressive dictators almost all do so to protect themselves, their families and their friends. For them to speak the truth is to risk torture, death, imprisonment, and/or loss of livlihood/means to support themselves and their family members. This is essentially the same as all the rest of the communist/socialist/authoritarian regimes in Central/South America and otherwise-such as Russia and many countries in the Middle East who live in "Kingdoms" under Sharia law. These countries are NOT FREE. Their citizens mostly stay silent because they will be targeted (often along with family/friends) for speaking out. Many do regardless and risk their lives. Some get targeted by terrorist groups (such as Masih Alinejad), get shot in the head (like Malala Yousafzai) or end up in awful places like Evin Prison where they suffer severe abuse and mistreatment (such as Narges, Toomaj, and many others in Iran), or even die under "mysterious circumstances" (such as Alexei Nalvany)-yet they continue/continued to speak out anyways to be a voice for the silent majority. 💪❤️‍🔥✊️

A comment I heard which is true, "The forgotten Korean vets - they don't even count". I have been to DC a couple times and everyone goes to all the monuments, except the Greatest. The Greatest Monument to ME - is the Korean War Monument. Take a look at that monument at night, in the fog and you will realize - the HELL all Vets go through to keep our Country Free.

3:42 India sent her Army to guard & protect the Chinese & North Korean who didn't want forcible repatriation. More than 22,000 Chinese & 6,000 North Koreans thus owed their freedom to India. Let this India's part be recognized here.

My uncle, Kenneth Walker, went MIA 2 Dec 1950 east of the Chosin Reservoir. He was with the Army’s 31st RCT, Task Force Faith. Several years ago, my cousin and I submitted DNA samples to the Army Repatriation Branch. Three years ago, we were notified his remains had been identified. Two years ago, we finally laid him to rest next to his parents, my grandparents. They never knew what happened to him because the whole thing was classified until the late ‘90s.

My heartfelt thanks to the Korean War Veterans Memorial Foundation - KWVMF for this important work of building the Wall of Remembrance which will honor the over 36,000 American heroes who sacrificed their precious lives in the Korean War. These American heroes gave their precious lives to save the Korean people from North Korea's communist tyranny and all Koreans who live in freedom owe our lives to these American heroes. Thank you for this Wall of Remembrance which will help all of us to recognize the tremendous sacrifices made by each of these American heroes and now they will become known by their names and help us to remember the very heroes who gave us our cherished freedoms. May these great Amerian heroes always be honored and remembered. As a Korean American, whose family was saved during the Korean War, I extend my deepest condolences and also the deepest of my gratitude to all Gold Star families who lost their loved ones in the Korean War. May God always bless the Gold Star families of the Korean War for the tremendous sacrifices they made for the freedoms of the Korean people. I also thank Jim Fisher for honoring Mr. Charles McGovern during the pre-ceremony interview and during the ceremony as a Gold Star family of Robert McGovern (Medal of Honor) and Jerome McGovern (Silver Star Medal), 2 brothers who were killed 11 days apart. The incredible courage and tremendous sacrifices of these 2 brothers who gave their lives for the Korean people will never be forgotten.
