Some car drivers can't even drive to the speed of a lorry, forcing lorries to overtake them, but then lorries are limited and it takes almost a whole stretch of road with 2 lanes to overtake the car, so the lorry blocks lane 2 for cars... 2nd. Just another lane hogger who doesn't want to give up his place in lane 2...

WHAT WAS HE DRIVING ---A TANK ? THOSE PEOPLE, OUT AND ABOUT WITH CHILDREN , I HAVE NO WORDS--
just an FWD Audi with winter tyres. And ... those people out and about with children.... what about them?
Doesn’t compare even remotely to the winter of 62/63.. as small kids we didn’t care in Cornwall that winter, we had an extra 2 months off after Christmas. But I remember my parents worrying. No heating due to the power cuts, we were in a modern house that had electric hot air heating… it got so cold… food couldn’t get through (Cornwall was cut off for months) water was frozen in the pipes.. and even the reservoir’s froze. Some of the villages in Cornwall were under 10 ft of snow! And because of our well known country roads being so narrow, they couldn’t get the ploughs down them! The army in the end had to hand dig many of the roads to the villages! Then shops started to run out of things because none of the large delivery lorries could get into Cornwall. It was like something out of Scot of the Antarctic!
I wasn¨t born in 62/63. :)
@@nic4x4cam92 best new year EVER as a kid lol… 😂 school remained closed for months as the heating was radiators back then.. so of course it was frozen until end of march if memory serves! Though I’m sure if mum and dad were still here they wouldn’t have agreed! 😂
@@nic4x4cam92 ps there’s a documentary on RUclips somewhere called something like “the big freeze of 63” highly recommend, it’s really interesting! All the best.. and hi from Cornwall. 👋
"Biggest snow"?
1982 with 20 feet drifts ! Probably the biggest snow in Britain
I have drove on roads like that in my life time and never again . I always refused to even start the engine when the snow comes down , like that. Because you could be paying extra insurance for years because of a silly skid. It's cheaper to just stay at home. And if you need to go anywhere, you can use a taxi. But there again I live in the town where roads are gritted. Only the side roads are like this " well not as bad .🇬🇧
Was your journey essential?
Just keep the steering straight you will be amazed how you stay on the road, drove from Leicester to Alton no problem the Beast of the East
Incredible, can't imagine what it'd be like opening the garden door and seeing a wall of snow.
Hahaha...the biggest snow in Britain??? Obviously said by a very young person. Type in winter 1962/3 and have a look at REAL SNOW!!
1963 WAS THE WORST WINTER ON RECORD.
I wasn¨t born in 1963
Brilliant video 😎 Where is this?
A44 from Fforest inn to bend on Radnor Forest heading towards Penybont .
Try 1963
at lest help them out you nasty person I hope something bad happened to you
The snowfalls during the UK winter of late 1962 and early 1963 was a record in recent memory for many people never to be forgotten. It is featured in a RUclips video viewed recently -> ruclips.net/video/5UY6yJUbswE/видео.html. I'm also read articles and comments p where a similar extreme event happened during the winter of form January to March in 1947.
As I said to many others who had similar comments with yours : 1962-63 I wasn't even born. 1947 not even my parents were born. So... I don't care about what happened in prehistoric times.
Prehistoric times LOL. 🤣 🇬🇧 60 years ago.
That's just 80s snow levels
L
That is a lot of snow, but it could be misleading to me. I don't really see a lot of ditches or snow fencing. Low and unprotected roads can drift up quickly.
I saw mew snow than that at the Lecht a month ago
Then I need to make a new video there
…..not…
Change title to "Snow typical of moat of Britain". Saw worse at sea level in NE england
If you've got the right tyres you can go anywhere
Don't make me laugh. In North Yorkshire the snow gets so deep under the car the tyres can't get traction. What about ice under the snow also ? Of course studded tyres are the answer to that, but who has them.
where is the global warming
"GLOBAL WARMING"? Sure Gretards, sure!
In all these snowy videos on RUclips if it's in the UK there is ALWAYS a comment how they seen it MUCH worse back in 50s or a yank going on how they also drove through it with bald tyres because their an expert in talking shite
i worked for Derbyshire highways at chapel en le frith in the 80s, this was a regular thing from November to April, and the roads where kept clear all the time.
Plinky fripp nappa! wee gingi broon vara de klee klee? pramie sprink fling...oh grimp flava flave brongo thrip shappy neep tangy. buysi now tata!...🤡
i hoped there would be another twat driving just as poorly in the other direction, then i saw its mr AUDI who would have guessed
NOOOO 1963 2 to 3 mts deep for 3 months.
WHY RICHI. S. HAVE MONEY FOR UKRAINE AND NO MONEY FOR SNOW PLOUGH WAKE UP OR FREEZE ON THE ROAD. CALL YOUR KING CHARLES.
Those who can remember 1963 in Devon can say this is a mild fall of snow. They had to use helicopters to transport food and fuel to out lying hamlets, as many were cut off for more than two weeks. There was not the machinery then to clear the roads. They even had the army digging out some lanes by hand.
Love this. 4x4 + winter tyres is the only way - Quattro alone wouldn't be safe. I have a Jimny and fit winter tyres for snow and ice. Used to have an Allroad and that was great but thirsty.❄👍
The snow in this video was no worse than back in the 80's. The village I grew up in, every now and then was cut off for a couple of days. The kids in the village longed for this each winter, as it meant no school and a lot of sledging.
I can remember opening my back door 80s and the snow was like a wall
In the UP of Michigan, the snow walls are usually over your head and it snows a lot. They get 7 inches of snow and they call it a dusting
@@trowwzers5057 To all of you....these events are something that happens.....maybe only every decade or so...but it is normal.......I have bought snow chains for my Jeep...Really good ones....I might not need them for another 5 years, but I will have them if I need them.
lol this just looks like an average winter in Consett, Co. Durham in the north of England.
Can we have it this year
Hopefully! :)
When and where was this in Britain
Beginning of March 2018 - "Beast from the East". In South Wales on A44 road. Driving west towards Rhayader, but as you can see from the video I didn¨t make it there that day. The road was blocked by snow a bit after The Fforest Inn (you can find that on Google Maps). In the video I drive past The Fforest Inn (left side of the road) at 1:50 where lorries and other cars are stopped, and then at 13:40 when I drive back (right side of the road)
I`m waiting for some smug american or canadian saying....that`s just a light covering compared to what we get.
God are people bloody annoying. Wave arms about yer get lost do me a favour
From Connecticut USA. Glad to see you guys enjoyed the snow. Looks like good times to me.
Millennial interpretation of deep snow.
Wonder if we will get it this year ?.
ruclips.net/video/PWwym5IxijQ/видео.html
Cat 160M motorgrader or Cat D8H 68A Dozer with an angle blade would have done the job
They didn't have one lying around as they not usually get that much snow
only places of deep snow on this are drifts and banked show from snow plows moving it .....storm emma 2018 the snow was tiny particlies of ice that due to like -3 or -4 day time temps stuck and blew about hence bare bits of road exposed to wind in reality it was hard to judge how much snow fell in this period of weather
1940 beat this
47/63 beat this. hell 81/82 did so did 87
Why do idiots who walk in the middle of road not get out of the way, these arseholes cause cars to get stuck, cunts !!
That sort of snow was regular back in the 60s and 70s
As in Switzerland
Reminds me of the snow we had in 1995 in Cumbria, we lived right on the coast, but it looked like this.
Looks like you weren’t the only idiot Audi driver out
