I remember listening to music on SoundCloud one night home alone and there was 3d knocking randomly in one of the songs as a prank and it scared the hell out of me. Genuinely sounded like it came from the other side of the wall inside my house.

This is the exact reason you have your desk *facing* doors/windows not away from them.

This is almost like watching a horror movie. Character A is watching scary video. Is aware that monsters can mimic sounds, but feels safe. Hears knock and thinks it is his food delivery. Chat is telling him not to go to the door, but guy ignores and goes to the door. Everything after is the mimic luring chat into believing it is Character A. At least the dog survived.

What’s even funnier is my dumb ass watching this video knowing what was gonna happen fell for the sound effect too

In his defense, that is such a PERFECT sound bite. I'm literally watching a video of a man fall for it, I've seen the video a couple times already, and I HAVE NO DOOR TO MY ROOM, and that knocking still kinda got me.

Internet Historian uses this in his My Immortal video and it *always* gets me. It's a great sfx

I FORGOT I WAS WEARING HEADPHONES WHEN I CLICKED ON THIS AND IT GOT ME TOO edit: I replayed it to hear again and it got me AGAIN. That's the realest door knock I've EVER heard. It got me twice in a row and I KNEW it was coming both times.

Many years ago, I was watching a video on this beautiful website. I can’t remember who the creator was exactly, but he used a similar sound effect. Cool whatever, the problem was it was a school night and very late at night. I heard the knocks, and I thought my grandfather caught me up way too late, and I thought I gonna be in trouble. It scared the hell out of me. I have never pretended to be asleep so fast in my life, and I didn’t know for days. That was until I decided to finish the video, and it got me again.

It's a _very_ well-crafted sound effect.
