    Your “How to” video came in handy as I decided to change out the left taillight assembly because it had water inside, and the backup light was out. Have an older model G35 coupe. Decided to update all removable taillights as well, left and right side. Imma a “girl” with some tools and not afraid to take on tasks like this, however, without videos like yours it would have not been as easy for me to figure out. Took me a little longer than 5-10 mins 😂, but, completed it and saved a boatload of $$$ (quoted $500 part and labor!!!). Taillight on eBay @ $119, plus bulbs, and “free” labor! Can’t beat that 😅! If you're talking about the one I removed at 1:08 then all there is to do is pry it, work it out from all corners slowly preferably with something plastic to avoid scratches if not you can always use a flat head screwdriver and wrap it with a cloth but you still run the risk of scratching the trim.

    @DelCar - Amazing & informative video! My 08 EX35 worked perfectly & randomly out of nowhere smoke started coming out of the engine. Took it to Infiniti and they are saying: "Radiator has cracked and both radiator and thermostat assembly must be replaced and it's a 5.5hr job". Infiniti is charging me $1,000USD for labour. The parts I will buy myself for $650USD as they wanted $1,000USD for the exact same parts. This will overall cost me ~$1,600USD total (parts & labour). I live in Dallas, TX. Any advice? Is their $1,000 labour estimate and 5.5hr job true?

    • @DelCar-garage
      @DelCar-garage 5 лет назад

      That means they're trying to charge you about 182 an hr. Almost all shops will post their labor charge and you can get a better idea and do a price comparison, but in general dealers will be more expensive. If you're not able to replace it yourself I would definitely shop around as they are charging you on the high end. I left Texas a couple years ago wish I could help, good luck!

    • @DelCar-garage
      @DelCar-garage 7 лет назад

      BuiltNoTboughTdc2 In my case even removing the grommet/metal bracket still gave me minimal clearance and too much pressure on the AC lines, so I still wouldn't recommend it. The short cut was not worth the risk for me as lines and condenser get pretty expensive if you damage them. Can't go wrong when you follow the maintenance manual.

      It is locked completely. It wont open at all.

    • @DelCar-garage
      @DelCar-garage 8 лет назад

      Bruno Gutierrez are the cables hooked up to the latch? There's a couple of thing you can try. First get someone to help you out, have them pull on the hood release while you shimmy the hood that might free it up just enough so you can get your hand in there. If that doesn't work you can jack up the car and remove the shroud from the bottom and try and get the latch to release, you'll need someone working the hood also. It sucks just be patient you'll get it.

      @DaMesiah1 8 лет назад

      thank you delcar. yes the cables are connected so thats why i find it to be wierd, i have tried playing with the release from inside the car but it gives me lots of resistance and the hood will not release. im going to jack the car up now and try it from near the tires.

    Great video! Thanks! Just replaced the radiator a few hours ago. Few comments. You don't have to recover AC. You just release tubes on the left then release the clip holder for tubes and it will give you room to push AC radiator out of the way when you remove the radiator. Also you don't have to remove the Overflow bottle or seal from the grill. Attention. To remove the grill you have to remove the upper radiator cover first. Then you can remove the grill clips grill has clips on the bottom.

    • @DelCar-garage
      @DelCar-garage 8 лет назад

      Thanks! There is a lot of short cuts you can take but you also risk damaging other components, you can never go wrong by following the repair manual. In my case the condenser had minimal movement even after released the bolts and clamps, I wouldn't recommend it since you risk bending and putting pressure on the AC lines or damaging the radiator or condensor fins and which can make the project more expensive than it has to be. Thanks for the feedback.

    I want to personally thank you for the help your video gave me.i took my Infiniti fx35 35 to an auto shop and had then recover and vacuum my ac system first. Next i began to take apart everything that was mentioned in your video. The only problem i had was, when trying to remove the radiator the upper hose on the left side had to be removed in order to remove the radiator.i also had to remove the upper hose sprout on the new radiator and put it back on once the radiator wad in place in the car. The only concern i have now is weather to take it to an auto mechanic to recharge the ac system or just go to AutoZone and get a can of r134a ac Freon and do it myself.

    • @DelCar-garage
      @DelCar-garage 8 лет назад

      im glad everything worked out for you. If you don't want to mess around with the vacuum pump then I suggest taking it to the shop to have it recharge. The vacuum pump will remove as much moisture as possible from inside the system since it was opened. You can recharge it yourself but you might run the risk of it not running as cold as before. That would be entirely up to you, I suggest just renting the pump run it for 5 mins really easy to set up and add the freon yourself, all you would spend is on freon. best of luck

      Are both of the radiator and condenser damaged? Dealer parts are great, but so can aftermarket parts. I have use both. Dealer parts can be overpriced though. I actually got an aftermarket radiator from radiatorexpress.com for a good price. they also sell condensers I'm sure they'll work a deal for you if you really need both. since you won't be fixing it yourself I would call a shop and ask how much they'll charge for the whole job and then ask them how much if you bring in the parts yourself. I wouldn't be much help in finding a shop sorry, I always do the work myself.

      The G35 is pretty similar. I wish I could help you out but I'm in Texas. The dealer will definitely rob you, they want 800+ just for the radiator. Have you looked into nissan or infiniti extended warranty? I used to have nissan qualityguard plus on my G35. It was pretty good, they finance the warranty you need to.
