I wash n go 99% of the time. I shampoo once a week, but I refresh ever 3 days now. I get trims every 10-12 weeks. It really just depends on how consistent I’ve been. I go to the same stylist! Once you start trimming my hair, you are stuck with me.

I had the same experience. My hair looked really good, but it was dry. I used the gel alone. And then I used it the gel with the leave in cream and got the same result lol

You could try leaving your hair alone more, like twists for 2 weeks at a time multiple times a year. Our hair can thrive during styling but I personally find rest periods for the hair to be healthy for it too! I wear wash n go's like once a month for a week, and twists the other 3 weeks and I'm just a few inches away from waist length. If I had a length retention secret that would be it lol
