I think this is an unfair comparison as Nick had limited musical theater experience and he was only 18 at the 25th concert vs Michael’s early 30s at the 10th Anniversary. However this should have meant that they should have chosen a different Marius for the 25th anniversary. Nick is just too unprepared for it and I think Mackintosh out him there so that Jonas Brothers fans will buy tickets for the concert. Kinda annoying as the 10th anniversary doesn’t have big names (well known outside musical theater anyway at that time) and people still bought tickets for that concert.

holy hell, how can you even ask such a question?

Honestly to me Nick Jonas just sounds like he’s constantly out of breath and constipated. He seems to have no lung capacity and has to change breath almost every other syllable, so he fails to hold a single note for longer than a second or two. Also he’s pretty bad at acting. He has the same constipated expression for most of the musical, and does this weird thing with his hands where they are stiff and it looks like they are holding an invisible box. Michael Ball is miles better. Nick Jonas tried his best, but don’t know why they got a 17 year old with no experience with the role.

Okey we all know Michael sang it better but we can not forget that Michael was 23 & 33 while playing Marius, and Nick was 18/19 years old. Nick also has a lot of pop training in his voice and isn’t actually a loud theatre trained singer (although he started his career in musical) so yes, you could compare them but Nick isn’t a musical artist and won’t be. Nick is also singing very low for what he normally does, not his best side of singing you can sadly hear that.
