Marble Run Magnetic Lift - Animated Breakdown
A short animated clip breaking down how the magnetic lift works in the MMMFOS (Massive Marble Machine from Outer Space). I was developing this as part of a large video going into more depth on how I built the Magnetic Lift, but I thought this was pretty fun and interesting on its own. Enjoy!

The Most Extreme Woodworking Project I've Ever Attempted: The Massive Marble Run from Outer Space!

Presenting the Massive Marble Run from Outer Space - the most EXTREME woodworking project I've ever attempted. What makes it so extreme? 1. The SIZE: 42 inches wide (diameter) x 27 inches tall 2. The COMPLEXITY: three major widgets (the Auger Lift, the Magnetic Lift and the Walking Carpet) with multiple gears and cams each powered by a separate 12v DC motor, each having to be positioned in such...

Massive Marble Run from Outer Space - 20 Days Out
Просмотров 2 тыс.Месяц назад
I have 20 days to complete this massive Marble Run project to have it ready in time for the Western Idaho Fair. Currently, I estimate I have about another 60 hours of work left on the project. The table top is 42 inches in diameter, and the tallest point is about 24 inches from the top of the table. I am using three 12v DC motors to power the auger lift, magnetic lift, and "walking carpet". I'v...

    My son saw this today at the Western Idaho Fair, he studied it as best he could from a distance and wanted to know how it’s made. Thanks for the QR code directing us to your channel. We watched the Auger video. He’d love to see more videos of you making it.

    Sorry just opened up the description and saw the auger lift note. Approx how many hours total do you have into this project?

    • @WoodTimeWilson
      @WoodTimeWilson Месяц назад

      This project has taken a little over six months, about 3 hours a day after work during the week and about 12 hours over the weekends, so best guestimate is about 650-700 hours total. I have to have it ready to go on Monday, and am really wishing I had another week.... =)

    Wow, very well done. I have your other one book marked I like it so much as well. Really like the uniqueness you incorporate unlike so many others you see, congrats. I was wondering if the lift was a marble pump or is it some other mechanism?

    Fun! Does the table have adjustable feet in case it is placed in a location where the floor is out of level?

    • @WoodTimeWilson

      Great question! Right now the table just has locking casters, but I want to upgrade them to something like these leveling casters (www.amazon.com/Leveling-Upgraded-Adjustable-Workbench-Capacity/dp/B0C5GQNNST?th=1)

    What is your motor from ?

    • @WoodTimeWilson
      @WoodTimeWilson 3 года назад

      It's a RS-550VC-7527, which are found in some cordless drills. You can pick them up on Ebay for about 12 bucks. One good way to get a motor like this is to pull one from an old cordless drill. I'll post a video how to do that.
