I collect American Fostoria clear as well as Jadite in Jane Ray pattern.
It looks so good. I love dealing in toys. I am in TN and they do well here. I am curious to hear how your display went.
Phew, you make me breathless just listening to all the work you do getting items packaged up!
I started to think I was crazy because it was so overwhelming lol 😆
Blueberry picker
I've seen a photo of that scoop once a long time ago, so didn't remember until now!
Thanks for watching
@@junkingwithlou You're the only person's shorts that I watch!
Darn, I hit some dumb key and it wiped out my whole comment...grr. I'm so frustrated. I don't have the mental energy to start over. ---Looks like similar Dionne photos are being sold for the $20 margin.---Great campsite!---So happy you got to watch a launch...I live 10 miles from Vandenberg Space Force Base, and can tell you, this never gets old for me, altho' there are plenty of locals who are tired of the noise because there's like 100 launches each year, & now they're anticipating 200/year next year.
Thanks for the info on the picture. I can understand your neighbors being sick of it but I’m like you I really like stuff like that. Boats are especially my favorite.
I have several pieces of Royal Ruby glass that my mother in law collected, is there any market to sell these items to? Thanks Cindy
I may have already responded regarding this but I’ll respond again. Maybe the comments are really similar. I have sold some ruby red at the antique mall but serving pieces go the best. You would probably get the best price on an online platform. Definitely still desirable but it sometimes takes time to find the right person.
I like your show ,I think you could have skipped that one.Iam married to LewDeLew,and we love antiques.
You are right but you never know what you will find. Thanks for watching.
Oh heck, these are always too short! I love that you take us traveling!
Next week is the second part and it shows the best parts. I think you will enjoy it. Thanks for all of your support.
I suppose they COULD have been sifters, but for what...you wouldn't need to hook it onto a bowl if using sugar. And I guess you could have strained loose-leaf tea for pouring into your fancy TEA pot for serving at the table (for your guests!). Also, straining coffee grounds for the same purpose. I know my Grandmothers (and maybe my Mom, if I remember right) had one of these, but I have no memory of watching either one using it! They are too small for straining fruit for canning, but the lip is definitely designed to be hooked onto a jar or something!
I have never seen them used either. Thanks for the info.
Sifters
Thanks Kim
Wow! A lot of work but looks so nice in the end. The candle blow molds take me back, my grandma always had those out
That’s cool.
🤷♀️I think they’re all tea strainers
Thanks for the info
Thank you!
You are welcome
I was just at your booth at the antique mall in Lincoln Park and saw your sign and saw you were on RUclips! Loved your booth! Fun video!!!
I’m glad you found me. Thanks so much.
Can't be there, so I happily settle for these visits! I hope you get sweater buyers!
I hope so too or there will be a large donation of Christmas sweaters after Christmas. I feel like if they don’t sell at the mall that they will sell at the Christmas vintage market. I’m really thinking about retiring from the RUclips business. It really takes a lot of time for hardly any money. I’ll make that decision later when I finally get social security. If I get it. I will certainly let everyone know if that’s my decision. I really appreciate all the support you have given me through this journey. Having a hard day today.
@@junkingwithlou At 73, I retired from nursing last year at Easter time...couldn't handle the cell phone any more, always on-call between the Hospice and Home Health patients I was given.---XOXO Lou, I still have days where I stagnate w/o a purpose.
I felt the same when I initially retired as an occupational therapist but instances keep coming up where my skills in working with people are needed in another way. I’m sure you will continue to find opportunities for you as you settle into retirement.
@@junkingwithlou It's been a year and a half, but I'm not a self-starter so not having a purpose kills any initiative that a normal person would exhibit. I have wonderful moments, but too often I'm gloomy. Sigh. Here's wishing you a successful future.
Where is this show ? Good luck with your sale
It’s in gross ile Michigan at the municipal airport in an airport hangar. It’s Sunday nov 3 from 10 to 4. I think they charge 6 to get in.
@junkingwithlou thanks for the info
Hiya Lou, a daytime post! Wow on the bargains. You're the gal to fiddle with all the tangled jewelry! I'd be sitting on the floor right next to you!---Are those grocery bags that you're tying the bundles with?---I'm sure you'll be letting us know what you end up selling that blow mold for, & how quickly it got snapped up!
I love a good jewelry lot. It’s like a treasure hunt. Yes those are plastic grocery bags that I use to bundle the necklaces. They work pretty good. Our computer died and we finally got the new one. Unfortunately we lost a lot of shows that just needed narration. Very frustrating. Thanks for hanging in there with us.
Could you explain how to tell the difference between depression glass and elegant glass? Sorry, I’m new at this.
They both were made in the depression era but depression glass was at a lowered cost and often was given away. The elegant glass is a better quality. They often a a ground ring on the bottom. As you see both the elegant is clearly a better quality glass often smoother. If you are able find an example of each and just see and feel the difference it will become clearer. Usually you can find them at antique malls.
I love these trips! Sorry to be late. I had a 4-day clearance sale, hoping to purge a lot of my stuff to make it easier to dust. Nope, disappointing turnout. I had 3 dedicated helpers to monitor stuff. Prep stuff to be left outdoors between days, got heavy marine layer the last two days, everything wet. I'm still designating where to put stuff that didn't attract any attention. More stuff to be dispersed to various donation centers (2 huge racks of nice clothes will be going to the Student Closet at the Junior College in the next town), books to the Library (my Senior Center took a few of the better cookbooks!), some older stuff to the vintage store that also accommodates consignment items. Uff da, I feel like I've aged 2 years. I never even had an opportunity to clear out the rafters in my garage, so my Sister & I are contemplating repeating after tax time, and maybe once school lets out, altho' my coastal location doesn't always translate into great 'leaving stuff outdoors' kind of weather. Just gotta wait and see. ---Looking forward to seeing what you do next!
Thanks for watching. It sounds like you have quite a job with that. Hope things will improve.
@@junkingwithlou I just dropped off 6 boxes of books, they'll only be able to sort 6 boxes, so I have to hold off taking the others in a few months. Sigh!
Pumpkins have sold great for me this year. This has been the year of the Pumpkin
I’m glad to hear they are for you. Thanks for watching.
Wonderful! I can sure see all the hard work you put into being a reseller!!! Someday I'm going to make my way down to the antique mall and visit your booth!🥰
That would be awesome. Thanks.
So glad there is no music!!!!
Glad it’s better.
PLEEEEEASE do something about that music. It is definitely a big turn off.
We are not doing music anymore so it should be better.
3:51 I love looking at the jewelry. 7:37 I love Sterling Silver. 12:52 there’s some coming out of Mexico marked as sterling but I’ve been told it’s not pure sterling so I dunno know. I’ve never tried to test any of it.
There’s a ton of jewelry marked 925 and is not. It may be plated but I’m not sure. Sterling is not magnetic but the plated stuff is. Get a strong magnet like 50 pounds and this will help.
This helps but a jeweler is also helpful.
Those blue orange and yellow and pink things are from scary games
Thanks for the info.
Cinnabar? Not certain with that spelling.
Thanks 😊
I agree my pet peeve is things not priced. I want everything priced 🙂
Definitely happens too often.
I looked up the Webster Flea Market, in case you head down there this winter. My Daughter lives 45 miles north and west of there, and I've been putting off seeing her. But, if I thought there was a chance of seeing you to say HI, I'd make vacation plans to fly to Florida around that same time (shh, don't tell her!).---10:37 Wasn't that green faceted bracelet a pop bead creation?---Cinnabar, has potential to be deadly.
No it wasn’t pop beads. Just a stretch bracelet. That would be so cool to meet you in Florida. I’m not sure if we will be going to the flea market or not this year and it’s weather dependent. If I know I’ll try to message you.
@@junkingwithlou Kool!
An elderly friend of mine used this grinder to make hamsalad for sandwiches. I use it to grind up bl9cks of soap to make laundry detergent...lol
That’s so neat. Thanks for watching.
Amazing! so informative and your delivery is on pint . You see, I have been collecting for just over a year and a half and, I am in the process of doing the daunting task of a detailed inventory with 1000;s of pieces yet to be identified and logged in. Your video has made the task seem manageable. I thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching. Good luck on that collection.
My Grandmother had one of these. She cooked with a woodstove. The holder held matchsticks. She would strike the match, light the stove, then throw the matchstick into the fire with the wood. Ironically, I found one today just like it while thrifting! Thanks for sharing!😊
Very nice 👍
Great collection, loved every minute❤thank you Ms Lou x
You’re welcome.
That building used to be Hills Department Store, and then it became Ames.
Thanks for the info. That explains the shelving.
@@junkingwithlou Yep, I miss Hills.
Looks great! I'm near Maumee, do you have any longaberger baskets?
I have one on the floor holding a toy by the toy shelf in the back. Also have several at home that I haven’t processed yet.
My mother had a whole set of the fire ing shiny orange dishes in the 70s
That’s wonderful.
Wow I just checked the rental prices... SUPER CHEAP, like 1.50 per sqft, doesn't get much cheaper anywhere... no wonder they have a waiting list of around half a year. Btw, does your mall require you to get general liability insurance?
No they don’t but if your items are destroyed they won’t be liable. I’ve had insurance for mainly shows and it is very expensive and difficult to find an insurance agent that is good to deal with. Very disappointing
@@junkingwithlou Yes I'm about to open a booth at a mall and the vendors are not excited that we will all have to take out general liability insurance which will add at least $30/month depending on where you get it. Building was taken over by an out of state developer who is forcing vendors to get it.
Is it as exciting to do all the re-arranging as it looks like it would be for me to do?! There's a Senior thrift store in my town that is always pretty junky, always wanting volunteers to sign up to help. I would love to get my hands on organizing, but at 73, making daily visits to my 93 y/o Mom, I can't take chances on coming in contact with something undesirable.
Reorganizing is actually really fun for me. I’ve even helped other dealers organize by color. I’m always wanting to do other booths because it is often disorganized.
@@junkingwithlou That's exciting to hear.
Hi Lou I visited your booth at plaza antique store and I bought a Fenton shoe
That’s so neat. Thanks so much for your support.
Hi Lou! Love your booth. So much to browse through. And you make it so easy to do with wide and uncluttered aisles. Thanks for taking us along!
Thanks so very much.
Youa are 100 percent right! My grandma had one and she made ham salad with it. It grinds up meat. LoL
Thanks for sharing
A friend of mine uses hers to grind cranberries
Good idea.
I've occasionally told others that I don't watch shorts, EXCEPT THESE! I love these watzits! I've seen my Grandmothers use the meat grinder, & I think my Mom still has one in her cupboard!
Thanks for all of your kind words.
I enjoy seeing the 'sold' tags as you review your finds.---Isn't it amazing how exhausting it can be just getting in/out of the car so many times?---Lots of treasures in this haul. Now, to label all that jewelry, phew!
It is exhausting but I definitely get a lot of exercise. Jewelry takes forever to price but I enjoy it. Thanks for watching.
Did your sister go with you for the whole day? Around here, the garage sales are closed up at 2:00 (generally!)---Do you do anything specific with the stuffed toys prior to putting them out in your booths? I buy various stuffed toys for Bingo prizes at the long-term facility across the street from my house where I used to work.---Lots of goodies in this haul...and no kitties or babies this time!---I would have liked to see the card table & wheel barrow thingy!---Subscribership is climbing...good for you!
Sales go to about 4 here and my sister was there just the first day. I usually wash all of my stuff animals unless they are new with tags. Any stuff animals going my Ohio booth has to be sprayed by a special formula due to laws regarding this even if I wash them. Thanks for hanging in there with us.
Love the dress form display!
Thanks 😊
Thanks for the shout out, my friend. I loved seeing your mom's booth. I need to get to Ohio before summer is over.
Can’t wait to hear what you think about it.
I'm always curious about what other shoppers buy in places like these. And, wouldn't it be fun to spend a day hanging out near the counter, watching what comes and finding out what everyone plans on doing with their finds. Also, how many times is the shopkeeper called on to get bulky objects out, or down from high up.
From what I’ve been told it is really random what people buy. They use it for decorating and often to flip. We’ve had people buying for movie companies at time which is pretty neat. Every month Maumee puts a list out with popular items that month. Vintage clothing seems to always be on that list.
@@junkingwithlou That list sounds kool! I wish you could give us a peek at what a typical list looks like!
I’ll try to remember to put it in the next video I narrated
I just love it
Thanks for watching.
So how do we tell it is authentic?
If there are no reproductions made it makes it really simple. Sometimes the reproductions are different in size and often the seams are more coarse. Also the colors are a little different at times. Usually the quality is just not as well made.
