Daytona Sandown Park - First ever DMAX race
My first ever DMAX race at Sandown Park. Used this session to get used to driving two stroke karts. Qualified in P10 & finished P10. With this being an open race rather than a championship it meant there was no minimum weight requirement, that showed a lot on the straights where I suspect I was giving up quite a few KG on the competition. There was quite a few familar faces in this race including a handful of club 100 participants. Great to get my first taste of a two stroke kart against some solid competition 🏁

Really tricky round two of this TNL season, 32 karts on a wet track made for a disastrous qualifying where I was unable to set a lap time under anything but yellow flag conditions. Really enjoyable start to the second season of Thursday Night League. Alternate track layout today, starting P3. Got off to a great start and up to P2. Slipped back to 5th after Lap 3 but battled back to 3rd and had great battle with P4 till the finish. Somehow managed to hold onto P3 under a lot of pressure. Great to start the season with a podium finish 🏁🏎️

Started 8th & finished 6th. Got a terrible start with a kart that seemed to lack acceleration. Felt like I was over driving the kart to make up for the lack of acceleration which felt a bit scruffy & made too many mistakes which nearly cost me on the penultimate lap with a big hit into the wall whilst misjudging an overtake on a back marker. Very wet & busy track today. Lots of yellow flags in qualifying but managed a lap good enough for P6. Troublesome start which dropped me a few places. Fought back up to P4 only 1 second off P2 by the finish 🏁

Finally a much better and cleaner race. 34 karts on track which made for a very busy qualifying with lots of yellow flags meaning I was only able to set a lap time good enough for P8 on the grid. I got a great start to the race and felt much more at home with the kart this week. Had to push flat out the whole race to keep in front of the Karts behind who also had great pace. P1 was out of reach...

Another tough one today. Didn’t seem to have much pace at all. Had some good battles but clean overtakes didnt seem to be the order of the day amongst my competitors, a bumper cars approach seemed more appealing 🌝. Ultimately I wasnt happy with the kart & ended up on the wrong end of the train. Started 12th & Finished 12th. Hoping for a better one next time out 🏎️

Tough day at Daytona Milton Keynes, started 4th was enjoying a great battle for 3rd place when we were both called into the pits for supposedly speeding under yellow flags, still not sure where exactly. Recovered to 13th but my race was effectively over after this. Passing back markers proved tricky (admittedly at fault for one incident) 🌝. A good day out though 👍🏼.
Ah! I'm the guy in kart 137 ahead of you - you're right. weight difference didn't make that a fair fight, your cornering was so much more consistent than mine. With ballast I reckon you'd have smoked me. fun race tho!

should have been black flagged immediately
In hindsight I maybe could have gone for the inside. Would have been a bit harsh if they got black flagged. We live and learn 😊
What is going on and where track is this and where is it?
It is a race at Daytona Sandown Park in Surrey, the kart in front of me was slow and I was coming up to lap them but I got squeezed onto the grass lost the kart and hit the barrier.
