A companion guide on navigating the universal complexities of everyday adult life, the best way possible 📖
Hey, I'm Graeme. I talk about little things you may not have really thought about, but that you might immediately recognize and resonate with. Little things that might cause you to look at a work, social, or life problem differently than you had before. Little things to encourage approaching these problems in the most optimum way. Little things that help us all become the best human beings we can possibly be 🌱

Do THIS to instantly become a more efficient communicator
If you need someone's help with something, you might start off with an overly general or theoretical description of the problem. And while that seems polite, it's often not the most efficient way to go about it. Being immediately and excessively specific will make things faster AND easier for everyone involved.

What starting Muay Thai in my 30s has taught me (2 years in)

It’s been about two years since I started Muay Thai, and about one year since I made this video talking about what I’d learned from it: ruclips.net/video/rxN-dcfKHP4/видео.htmlsi=eYEmYiinTiZYQbo2 This journey has continued to be one full of bruises, growth, and countless learnings. And now that I'm 2 years in, and since it seems like many others are also on (or interested in starting) that jour...
How to END what you're saying with confidence
Просмотров 4921 день назад
Whenever I have to speak about something off the cuff, I can start things confidently. But unfortunately, I can also often lose my train of thought or forget where I was going with it. And usually, that means I trail off and end with an awkward "....and yeah" or "so....yeah". And that's not always ideal. However, I've been trying to get better at NOT doing this. If ending things with a "yeahh" ...
The key to being given MORE opportunities

You know how it sometimes feels like no opportunities are coming your way? Well, maybe they've been there in the background, but the universe could just tell you weren't truly ready for it. If you get yourself ready, stay ready, and do 99% of the work needed...the opportunities will come.

Here's actually why Autumn is your favourite season
Просмотров 442 месяца назад
It's not the nice colours, the layered outfits, or the fancy drinks (even though those are all great). It's about what Fall represents. I've always found autumn to be an incredibly exciting time because of this, and I'm sure most people have as well (even if they've never realized or thought about it this way). When speaking up for yourself is a MUST
Просмотров 712 месяца назад
If you aren't always comfortable speaking up for yourself, sometimes you'll get lucky and other people will help you out. But sometimes, you'll have no choice but to do this yourself. I recently watched 2 people fail to speak up for themselves, then subsequently end up much worse off than they would've been. And as embarrassing as it would've been, I bet they both regret choosing not to use the...
How to stop sounding unsure of yourself (when you know you’re not)
Просмотров 1712 месяца назад
I feel like I can often come across as hesitant and uncertain, even when I clearly know what I'm talking about. I don't necessarily think it's due to a lack of confidence, but rather a desire to ensure others aren't made uncomfortable by what I'm saying. Sometimes that results in my sounding unsure of myself, which isn't always ideal. If this sounds like something you also deal with, here are a...
The actual best type of people to come across

When you're forced to go slower than you want to, it's easy to feel frustrated and impatient. And when you're forced to go faster than you want to, it's easy to feel a little rushed or stressed. But sometimes you come across someone who's going at the same pace as you, and what a comforting treat that is.
When you aren't where you thought you'd be in life
Просмотров 1403 месяца назад
In my early 20's, I remember being so excited to step forward into life. I was confident in myself and my abilities, and I expected everything to be smooth sailing on the road to success (in all areas of life). Start this solo birthday tradition (and your future self will thank you)
Просмотров 483 месяца назад
Birthdays are often about "getting" things. Getting presents. Getting your free Starbucks drink. Getting turnt (is that still a term?). Getting older. Getting wiser. Regardless of how you celebrate your birthday, I'd argue that getting introspective is something you want to start doing as well.
The two best character traits you can have
Просмотров 1065 месяцев назад
If you've ever met anyone who completely lacks both of these traits, you'll probably agree that they totally suck. Conversely, whenever you meet someone who clearly has both traits, it is hard NOT to be immediately impressed by them. These are consistently the best people I've ever met.
How to have a terrific conversation with someone you've JUST met
Просмотров 595 месяцев назад
Meeting new people can sometimes be a bit awkward, especially if everyone is more on the introverted side. Generic, surface-level, "getting to know you questions" are rarely fun to answer. But I've found that following up with THESE types of questions usually lead to conversations that are often fantastic in nature. Are you Team General or Team Specific? 🤓
I just started my journey last month at 29. Your viral video was very informative my dude🙏🏿❤️ Edit: another banger vid
@@slaveofgod3481 I really appreciate that man, glad to hear! All the best on your journey 🙏
Lovely video dude, first time on your channel
gas bro
Great Video, very inspirational for later starters!
If you found this insightful, I've since made a follow up video that you may enjoy as well: ruclips.net/video/4-2HEuqImwg/видео.html Wishing everyone the best in their own Muay Thai journeys!
I love this!! Didn't know you made content nor did I think you were only 2 years into training! To me, a guy who's been training for over 16 years (I'm 36) and having had some amazing rounds at the FKP MMA dojo, you have legit skills! All respect!
@@RyanVentura604 thanks brother, appreciate the kind words! Always a pleasure going up against you (even though I can never stop your relentless forward pressure 😂😂)
@@gggraeme LOL Oh man, you do a fantastic job and honestly you give me a hard time every time we spar. I have to force myself to put on more pressure so I don't meet the end of your strikes.
It’s very true about the mental blocks sometimes it’s hard mentally to exchange with someone and be willing to go first sometimes I have trouble with that and then I end up becoming too passive
@@honestlee9921 ugh totally, plus the mental block of 'if I hit hard back, are they just gonna get mad and turn it up even further?' 😭😭

What has your own journey taught you about yourself? 🥊🥋
I’m gonna send this video to all the incompetent assholes I know and hope they get the message
Hopefully they are capable of honest self reflection
Also nice video editing quality
At the very least the ones who aren’t very competent at least if they are nice and easy to work with it’s okay. If your an asshole it’s gonna suck to work with u but if you are at least highly competent in what you do at least we can rely on you. It makes them more bareable from that perspective alone. But the ultimate combo is having both as you said those people are the best
At my workplace we have many many people low in congeniality and also low in competence. They are the absolute worst
We can use this guide in many areas of our lives from work, to within the dojo setting. Someone who is less congenial but highly competent will still garner respect . It’s always great when someone is highly skilled tho but also super humble .
@@honestlee9921 hahah thanks for watching dude! Yeah I actually had fighting in mind when I was writing this up. Nothing is cooler than someone who's genuine and friendly, but who can also kick you into next week. Best combination is a nice badass 👌
This video makes a lot of sense to me
What do you do/say when you lose your train of thought? 🚂

Have you missed out on any major opportunities because you weren't ready at the time?
Hi Graeme! Thank you for this video! I am 45 years old and have been training Muay Thai for 7 months now. The gym has become my home away from home and I've gained so much confidence and perspective as a result. This video helped me take the leap. I had never played organized sports or had any interest in MMA, but having children motivated me to learn self defense . I was intimidated by the perception I had of the meathead guys I thought I would encounter at the gym, but this video helped me realize that there were kind, generous and happy folks there as well. To any one out there considering Muay Thai, don't be intimidated, go to a gym with good lineage and a connection to Thailand and just show up consistently . You will be respected and treated as part of the community just for showing up and doing your best. Muay Thai will change you life and you will meet great people through it!
@@CraigersJamz oh wow, thanks so much for sharing this back! So glad to hear this gave you a little push that has blossomed into something great 😁
a year later, I appreciate your mindset.
hi Graeme, this is very encouraging!! I especially love the jazz in the background
I didn't know anything about HRIS before your video! Thanks for sharing!!
Which HRIS do you like (or hate) the most? 👀
love this perspective on decision making! I agree.. the times I usually regret my decisions the most is those 'impulsive' decisions where I didn't take time to think about it and only thought of the short term rewards
Great story and reminder of when advocating for yourself is important!
Have you ever been in a situation where it took a while to get there, but you eventually stood up for yourself?
Was it actually the wrong decision, or was it the right one at the time (that just didn't work out as expected)?
you're journey is so inspiring Graeme!! Congrats on your 40th video, that is a huge accomplishment. Excited to be part of this journey together :) Rooting for you! Love the mindset of mastery over money.
Keep up the good work g money
Really enjoyed this reflection video on your past year of youtubing! You will no doubt reach your goals and continue to learn more about yourself in the process ❤️
so therapeutic -
When was the last time you started something that completely changed your life?
Love the focus on gratitude and focusing on mastery. Life is a journey and success will come. I've been shared the BE DO HAVE mentality and live by this. BE all the things you aspire to be, do what actions/behaviours this person does, and you'll HAVE the things aligned with it in time
@@evelynyung what a great mentality to approach life with 😊💯
The best thing is to stop stupid fighting. Just do the Les mills body combat work the pad and a little light sparring. The injuries and pain long run are simply not worth it
My favourite season! Cooler weather is so welcome after a hot and humid Ontario summer. Better for running and cycling. Faster races times. And, yes, getting to wear cozy fall clothing.
True and true and trueeee about everything you said and i agree
great video!! I love autumn too :)
I've totally been in that bus situation where I didn't speak up for myself...but the stop thankfully was not before a long bridge. Love that you made this into such powerful learnings! Thanks for the reminder to speak up for myself :)
I also get my free Starbucks drink, and go to Denny's (sometimes) for my free birthday grand slam. Do you have any birthday traditions, big or small?
One time, I let a street scammer put a CD (his "fire mixtape") into my hands. Then he asked for my name, autographed it, and then asked me for money. And I was too nice and gave him some...which also caused his friends to come over and do the same thing. By that point, I was trapped and I ended up giving money to all of them. And boy did I regret not speaking up for myself in that moment. What about you?
Caught myself saying maybe a lot this week - great tips for building awareness!
