It is not nice to use the word fraud. It is scientificaly unqualified case is better terminology

My sister right now is seeing a psych for depression. The psych prescribed meds and now my sister is much worse due to the meds she always complains about being tired and sleepy always. Lately she tried to kill herself three times. And now the psych is recommending increasing the med and implementing electric shock treatment for her brain. The family is discussing now firing the psych and getting another one

I think I have a textbook mal practice case against a psychiatrist who called me a liar after getting 5+ years of professional therapy and treatment from a psychiatric MD and took me off all my medication, where I’ve been living in a state of psychosis ever since, and even worse than it was before I seemed this new psychiatrists help. Makes me fear for my life just going to see a general doctor

This sounds like the facility I was just forced to stay in for over a week. They took me off my SSRI without taper while in opioid WDs with no aid. I've never gotten so bad in my life. They kept trying to force me to take medications I've already tried and know don't work. It took 5 days of begging EVERYONE I met to finally get back on Lexapro and now I'm fine, but that was clearly malpractice. Honestly I want to sue the facility because almost everyone there had the same experience (it was my third stay).

Can lack of informed consent be grounds for a lawsuit?

Dr. Caridad is unethical and should not be taken seriously. He refused me treatment at his practice. I had waited 6 months to get in, had a terrible appointment with the assigned psychiatrist and filed a complaint about it. Without reading my prior ADHD diagnosis or discussing my career with me, the Dr told me that I would need to stop taking my medication because he didn’t believe I had ADHD because what happens is ‘intelligent women with successful careers will make it so far and not be able to handle it so they claim they have ADHD’. Dr. Caridad took weeks to get back to me on my complaint and being rescheduled with someone else. He then refused me treatment at his practice stating no psychiatrist will see me because I have previous ADHD diagnosis. He still did not cancel my follow up apt with this Dr as I asked. There is an $85 no show fee, so I followed up to make sure it was cancelled and then received a letter from Dr Caridad stating I had self-discharged myself from their care, when they had actually refused me service.

As a 52 year old, I was diagnosed bipolar at 21 and it was devasting. However, now realising that I have BPD (now in a relationship for the first time in 6 years), learning about the disorder is really helping me and my partner, make sense of my behaviour. If it's something you can relate to then learn all u can and get the help you're entitled to. Having BPD it is why I avoided relationships for so long, but with the right partner it can and in my case, will, be overcome! I didn't find this interview helpful however, a more 'open' subject would have helped. I fear more people watching will class themselves with BPD than who actually have it!

Where can someone find legal representation to file a lawsuit against a behavioral health hospital? I've asked many lawyers in my area (Houston Tx) and no one will even LOOK at the situation

Thank you for this helpful podcast! Alcohol is not a "safe" drug, especially for women who plan to become pregnant, or who are pregnant, due to the impact on the fetus' developing brain. In the 80's in early pregnancy I was told a glass of wine was okay. Now we know that is 100% false. I will share this information with my clients.

It would be interesting to learn if a patient's ACEs number is a factor in the development of this syndrome. Thanks for this podcast!
