Epic Sam - too easy for you fellas out there!
@@gpfishingadventures7834 cheers Grieg. Its definitely not on the same level as catching a 50kg model off a kayak 😂.
Wich bay is this man ?
What rod and reel you using man ?
Top fish brother, even better that you're out with the ol man
@@thomaswatson7182 cheers mate. Yea it’s cool getting out with the old boy.
Awesome mate....what date was this?
This was the 16/1/25, I went out again in the 18/1/25 and caught another yft and a marlin. Whanga is fishing well
@nzfisherman7024 awesome mate, hoping to get out Friday...this bloody wind has been killing us 👍
Hey mate, what transducer are you using with your Elite FS? And what sort of depths are you reading. Thinking of going this head-unit, but hard to find anyone running them out towards 300-400m.
I’m running the airmar tm265. It can read the bottom at 500+m but doesn’t mark fish well at that depth. 300-400m is not a problem
Hi brother im new to fishing, can you help me by showing how you rig up for surfcasting off the beach please...
@@MyRastafa yea I can help you mate. If your based in Auckland we can meet up and go for a cast if you’d like?

I can't wait to go with you to fish and catch a big fish 😋 ❤
@@ilciclistaabdel I’m in the process of starting a charter company so this could definitely be a possibility👍
Thanks for sharing this adventure. Really enjoyed the video. Which Penn reel are you using on the surf rod? Kind regards MP
@@michaelpaul5498 your welcome, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’m using the Penn spinfisher 7500 long cast. Good robust reel. If you don’t get your reels wet the rival is also a good option and much lighter.
Do you know how many rivers in southern New Zealand have self-sustaining runs of Chinook salmon? And, do you the size of the largest New Zealand Chinook ever caught was?
@@allancrow134 I don’t sorry. I know very little about the fishery. I was lucky enough to jump in on a trip with my Dad and uncle.

Great effort mate

Way to go Mom! Her inner strength fought it herself to the end 🤙🏽
Hi bro, looks like a good spot. can I get where is here?
Nice clip! I fish that strip from a kayak, but I don't use bait or berley during the summer because the hammerheads come in close to breed. I caught a 2m bronzie and a few other sharks in close from my kayak, but they are so powerful they can tip the yak, so now I just use soft bait and lures, and the sharks leave me alone. I wonder what that great white was eating, there are still a few winter swimmers if he gets hungry:)
Cheers mate. It can be a productive section of coast. A 2m bronzy would have been fun from the yak. I spoke to DOC about the encounter and they said the smaller whites come into the coast/harbours to feed on smaller fish around this time of year. The larger whites move offshore to known areas with larger prey such as seals. lol, yea maybe I should for forward the video to the Takapuna ocean swimming club😂.
Last year we saw the same east side of Rangitoto in late November - juvenile Great Whites have always been in the Hauraki gulf, their parents who can also eat their own are out of the inner HG on their way to known feeding grounds further south. Nature is a wonderful thing. The Juveniles commonly launch themselves, wouldn’t want one landing in your boat - treat with utmost respect.
A friend of the family got killed by a GW while swimming at Muriwai!! Have fun out there y'all!! chomp chomp!!

hahaha oh man I tried out mullet point yesterday for the first time and like you's I went the track way not knowing it is now nearly impossible to get down due to slips etc so had to go all the way back and then a Chinese fisherman pulled up in the carpark and told me to just go around the rocks! lesson learned.
@@shauncullen5038 haha it’s all part of the adventure
Cool. We had one take a pannie snap off us down at Kuaotunu (coro) was stud length (2.5 metres or so) but built like a truck. Made 2 huge breaches. Pretty cool
@@chrisheeney6963 that’s epic.
A few years ago there was a 16-17 footer hanging around the Chelsea sugar factory for a few weeks. It was hooked several times and breached also. I decided I would no longer ocean swim in Auckland harbour after that. A 16 footer is not survivable 300m out in the harbour.
@@540chevhell9 yea that’s a big shark. I have a friend that has hooked one up the harbour
🇳🇿👍🏾😎🐠
Not sure I'd take a 3 week old baby out on the water. That life jacket would do sweet FA if you ended up in the water.
The life jacket is specifically designed for infants from 3-12kg
This is as epic as it can be! which bay is it on the peninsula?

It's a nice spot there, caught many a fish near here.
@@naturocamz7920 such an awesome area a
@NZFisherman Firstly it's good to see your not Religious, now the reason the sharks are going to be taking all your fish is because Green powered people have claimed the sharks need saving like the rest of us and now the sharks outnumber the fish ... all the commercial out to the 500 miles are taking Everything leaving nice K1VV1's with 14 foot deathtraps catching sharks or undersized fish now I'm trying to get 4 plus lines down but here's the answer to fishing around Yuckland is. I fished the Manakau, from BHB, I had 2 yellow 20 ltr drums with 3 meter stainless to a bail of 7 treble hooks ... about Shark bite size and I set them at either end of where I wanted to set my 1000mtrs long line of 200 hooks for myself.. After setting the long line and I got one set per tide, I went looking for the yellow drums there was never much left the sharks attacked the sharks while I was getting 2 hours in the water. Back then NOTHING that looked like a shark lived - I smoked them and the dog loved it. Big boats taking the feed off the coast leaving hungry sharks with nothing to ear and greenies selling Save the sharks is what you have. Knowing to set Shark Traps around where your fishing allows you to land fish to eat.. K1VV1
Nice bro cool video
Cheers@@levimageedrumsnz
Awesome, I do a lot of diving around the shore. Never seen any sharks let alone GWS, good to know they are out there 😅. Was a bigger one seen long bay in summer
