Aquarium - Simple, Durable, Reasonabel ( Angelfish, Pleco, Catfish, Keyhole cichlid) No CO2
in this video I show you my "living room aquarium"
Its a 120 gallon tank and measures 1,3m x 0,6m x 0,6m
I would classify it as a classic community aquarium.
I recently refurbished it.
My goal was to make the aquarium inexpensive, insensitive and naturally beautiful
The substrate is ordinary black gravel with rounded edges
I chose this substrate to save costs and because the simple planting does not require high-quality soil.
Since the stocking of fish is relatively high, I think it is
It is essential that the substrate can be properly cleaneded
to remove phosphate nests, this is with gravel
much easier.
The hardscape are some pieces of Dragonstone that I have left
and wood that I collected myself, t...

6th Month update Natural Aquarium Ep8 (day 150) no waterchange
Просмотров 1144 года назад
this is the 8th update about my nature aquarium. 150 days have passed since the start. Unfortunately the honey gourami female died too, I hope that it was because both animals were old when I bought them. The good health of all other animals suggests this. I didn't change the water for 4 weeks. I constantly measured the water values. In the end, nitrate was hardly detectable. Potassium was also...
Leaf Cutter Ants Colony Setup (Acromyrmex Echinatior)

This video is off topic. It is about my leaf cutter ant colony. It is the species Acromyrmex Echinatior from Central America. I have them for 20 months now, it is such a pleasure to watch them. It can't be boring. Keeping ants is highly recommended to anyone who loves to watch how insects live their lifes. symbiotic relationship between leaf cutter ants and fungus is one of the wonders of natur...
4th Month update - Natural Aquarium Ep#7 (day 100) sad news
Просмотров 784 года назад
Already 100 days are gone. Unfortunatelly the male gourami has died. I don't know why. Allother fish do very well. I know honeygourami don't get very old and I can't say how old he was when I got him. I'm not sure if I should get another male for the female gourami. She looks very happy and more confident then ever, although the male never really stressed her. The plants I'm using are: - Anubia...
3rd Month update - Natural Aquarium Ep#6 (Day 80) an aquaponic tomato is ripe
Просмотров 964 года назад
time is running away. It is day 80 now. A tomato is ripe but the mother-plant died. I guess the frogbit used up all nutrients, but maybe the tomato was just a silly idea. The Hygrophilia has disappeared. Not enough light I assume. The plants I'm using are: - Anubias barteri nana petite - Anubias barteri - Eleocharis pusilla - Echinodorus magdalenensis - Myriophyllum mattogrossense - Ludwigia re...
2nd Month update - Natural Aquarium Ep#5 (Day 50)
Просмотров 854 года назад
This is an update of my narural tank. It's day 50 since start now. The honey gourami still has the urge to spit water. Out of the tank. It looks really funny. The Dwarf Pencilfish still fascinate me with their strong swarm behaviour. Another interesting fact: If they are asleep some are almost snow white. I checked the waterparameters. Nitrate was a little less. I will increase the amount of fe...

this is Episode 4 of my natural aquarium. This is epidode 3 of my Nature Aquarium Series, inspired by " Foo the Flowerhorn" . This time I gonna attache a simple aquaponic. Probably I have not enough nutrient in my aquarium water for tomato plants to build fruits. Maybe I should add some fish first. You cannot fo...

Nice. Our lads have dinner with the Beta. Frozen mosquito larvae placed on a bit of slate in the centre of the tank every day. The tetras have a nibble. The beta sometimes has pellets too and likes to sample the tetra flakes. The frogs hide in the java and behind rocks most of the day but they are super cool.

Great video. Very straightforward and informative! As others have said, sponge is a great idea. Another similar technique is to use small Marimo moss balls. The black worm love living in them. Every now and then, pick one or two out, drop into your main tank(s). When the fish have harvested all the worms, pop it back into the worm tank/farm and new worms will find their way into the moss balls again. I have a small, 7l, tank that I use with the supplied filter, which I only switch on every few days (but not the heater - worms don’t need it). I also farm bladder snails in the same tank, as I use both to feed my pea puffers. My betta, larger neons, and galaxies also enjoy the worms. For anyone who isn’t bothered about the aesthetic of seeing a colony of worms living in their main tank, it’s also possible just to start up a colony in there. I don’t do this with my puffers because they’re greedy and will keep eating until they can barely move 😆.

Try a sandy bottom... and you can comb the worms out? The amount of sand is key. 2-4cm deep, spread evenly should be good.

You can get filters pretty cheap. I use a couple whole house filters I got from menards. They're ~20 a piece one uses a string filter $7 for 2 and a catalytic filter is ~30 on Amazon. Make sure it's a catalytic carbon filter, it removes chloramine much better than normal carbon. Edited to add I'd still treat it with a water conditioner. Personally I prefer api with stress coat

They do eat pellets. Some just have a hard time getting used to them, some don't even try them. if feeding them live stuff avoid live bloodworms as they have hooks that can damage the frog's throats. Flake foods on the other hand I avoid for my other aquatic pets since it's not very easy to measure how much you're giving them and they spoil easily in the water, and have a shorter shelf life as soon as you open the container it was in.

They definitely eat pellets and fish flakes. Although I dont put the flakes in there for them: theyll go to the surface to get some when i feed my female veil tail betta, Zelda. I have 2 ADF. Their main food is frog pellets from Thrive. They can swallow them. They also eat freeze dried tubifex & blood worms and frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms. Unfortunately my closest store for live foods in over an hour away but I do try to feed them some live foods. I have also crushed and soaked bottom feeder pellets and they are them as well but it was last resort
