​@@MaeMae-ir4dsBut i'd miss the Spendor bass. ATC is amazing when it comes to midrange, but it has no bass, which makes it effectively a costly midrange … driver pre se! I want a more overall performer than ATC extreme midrange bias.

​​@@juststuff5216Once you get used to ATC's dry bass performance, you will start hating the hollow fake extension of most other bass reflex speakers that use the port for extension. ATC tunes the port at the same frequency as the resonant frequency of the driver. Hence the port is primarily used for reducing distortion not providing extension.

That's an oversimplification of all and any BR design! As, someone who has been designing transmission line speaker/sub enclosures, almost exclusively, since 1991 (see my channel), I know that there is no one enclosure type that fits every single drivers T/S parameters, going into every single varying listening environment (room), that deals with every single listening preference and prejudice of the listener (music) ... and ATC has done nothing to buck that truth ....! There is no one commercial speaker, that perfectly matches all three requirements ... and cost/money does nothing to negate this .... although most Audiophiles falsely believe it does. Unfortunately, acoustics do not work around any parameters based on money! What you describe as "dry" someone else describes as "weak"

You are absolutely right. Lacking some bass makes a little bit drawback for Atc. You can't go wrong on each of them depending on your personal preferences.

Never heard elite. Can't compare it.

@@MaeMae-ir4ds I've never like the bass on any ATC speaker … because they don't have any! That, plus the fact that I've been designing and building transmission line speakers for as long as PMC, but better, might make me a bit bias. ruclips.net/video/qm5K_VVRwXQ/видео.html ATC's have something that few speakers have, but I resent the fact that I would need to buy a separate subwoofer to fulfil my needs, and to fill in what's lacking in all ATC speakers.

I think the amplifier needs to be top notch for this level of speaker. Often gets overlooked but amplification has to have the power and quality to get these to perform properly.
