It is astounding how supportive he is. I have not played dark urge yet, but i'm baffled to see the level of tenderness; he doesn't do this in the vanilla romance.

Can we also just pause on the bit about "sleepless nights spent tied up trying to slit [his] throat"? NIGHTSSS. As in there have been multiple incidents like that first one where Durge resisted the Urge to kill him, and he did exactly what he said he'd do then, and tied them up when the Urge came back, and then _stayed_ with them through the night until the Urge had passed. True, it would have been irresponsible to simply tie Durge up and then not keep an eye on them, but even so, _he's_ the one Durge is actively trying to kill in those moments, anyone other than him could have kept an eye on them, but _he_ did it, keeping close while Durge is literal feet away straining against bonds to get killing hands on him. It's just so...ugh, I think about this stuff waaaaaay too much.

Wild how as manipulative and trashy Astarion is to my character in the beginning, I honestly can't bring myself to say a mean word to him and would do anything to protect him lol. I guess because loving him and helping him become the best version of himself is so rewarding to me. He can be such a sweet partner once you start breaking down those barriers of his.

I've watched several of the different versions of this scene, and the Astarion one is honestly my favorite. I think it's because he just seems to "get" the Dark Urge in a very specific and personal sort of way. And he takes this whole situation in stride, even sitting there practically laughing at you while you threaten him, despite probably being internally terrified that he's on the verge of losing you. Also, it doesn't look like it's an option in this particular playthrough, but this has got to be one of my favorite lines: "Just as the lick of poison is removed from my words of love, yours become a sentence of death. A tragic pair, eh? At least the smut-peddlers of Sharess' Caress will have a field day writing erotic verse about us when we're both dead."

I do love that no matter what your attitude toward your discovered Heritage, he supports you all the way. If you seem eager for it, he's absolutely down to watch (and hopefully participate in) the carnage. Just, please don't get all preachy "father" about it. But if you're NOT okay with it, and you admit you're scared of his control? Well shit, that sounds familiar. And he practically _begs_ you not to give up.

“How many lives have you taken? Dozens? I must’ve brought Cazador thousands.” Astarion I appreciate the support but something tells me Durge’s kill count is *much* higher than that

When I started playing this game, and didn’t know his backstory, I thought Astarion was just an ass. However, as the game progresses and you learn of his past, is just heartbreaking. I think is the best written romance in the game (followed perhaps by Shadowheart’s) . Which is why helping him do that horrible ritual later in the game is the most terrible thing that can be done to him. Here’s a man desperately trying to defeat the darkness that has enslaved him for centuries. Letting him become that same darkness is plain evil.

Is this the only Astarion romance durge ending?

When I played this ending the ending party had my Urge driven character kill everyone. Did this scene trigger for you?

I think one of these lines is cut out now - “Whatever it is that’s controlling you, we can fight it. I know that better than anyone.” I just did this scene and it’s not in there 😢

Second one is always the best 😅. You can imagine my delight when my thoughts of ‘some gratitude wouldn’t kill’ is a dialogue option.

I was enjoying this and his jokes until the last dialogue path. I enjoyed that too, but in a deeper way - and almost choked up by his sheer determination and resolve in his voice. And you can tell nightmarish memories are being played in his head.

When he says you could have told him about it, does he says this even when you do tell him? Like from day one, you can tell him about your lost memories, the urges, he can see you talking to withers about your urges, he can see you talk to Ethel about it too, he can see you do the urges and how you react to it etc. does the game acknowledge all that and hes just referencing you trying to kill him in this moment?

The butler has a sweeter dialogue for you than Astarion does. Act 3 really is botched companion-wise.

this is the best ending for evil durge tbh, bette thqn killing everyone at the epilogue party. I did this with ascended astarion and he shouted "NO, WAIT" 😅

I'm SO glad that I accidentally broke the dual by sending Astarion in after Desdemona (my main Tav DUrge who defied Bhaal and was horrified at her past actions and carried Alfira's lute with her everywhere in silent offering for regretting her death)

Man it hits different the way Withers still views you as his friend and hero even after getting controlled by Bhaal

Now I dont know the lore in any real depth, but why is Bhaal still alive?

Remembering the durge first imagined Astarion as a "pretty corpse" when they first met makes 1:34 so much more fucked up. Hearing that exact phrase repeated, but in such desperate context, it no longer feels like a shocking intrusive thought; it's an obsession constantly festering in their mind.

What a bad ending, and Gale is dead too :( you detonated him just to make it more dramatic didn't you? Is Karlach dead too? :P

I got this with Wyll, he said something along the lines of “even if your magic never comes back, you’re still part of our group, we’d never abandon you and you’re still a formidable fighter” or something to the same point
