Old Made New- Part Three: Dry Bones
We have spent all summer and most of Autumn getting the foundation sorted and now we are ready to build out of the ground. But now it is winter and that brings enough challenges of its own. Join us as we go through the journey of building a home studio.
Old made new is our journey of a homeschooling family building a home studio with the help of a few friends and family.

Old Made New - Part Two: In the Ground
Просмотров 7 тыс.8 месяцев назад
Good things take time, and just like waiting for seeds to grow after months of working the ground we are finally out of the ground. I never realised how much work would go into the foundation but here we are, ready to build and only the rain can hold us back. Old made new is our journey of a homeschooling family building a home studio with the help of a few friends and family.

Old Made New - Part One: Saying Good bye
Просмотров 42911 месяцев назад
Starting a business during a depression, building a home studio when inflation is high. Dreaming bigger than yourself requires a little help from friends and a hope that sees beyond our current circumstances. This is where the sledge hammer hits the concrete as we say goodbye to our dilapidated 90 year old shed to make way for something new.

Tills lookout Easter Sunday Morning 2022
So awesome. Always love going to see the balloons over waikato in person. But I never made it last time. This video made me feel like I was right there myself.
I think that trusting others is a weakness. I have built on 4 continents over the last 45 years, and trusting someone is a fools way of ignoring the obvious ….weakness and failure. Always check the work...no matter how much you trust someone...at the end ..the final product appearance and durability and structural soundness comes down to yourself. I am an Australian, and have been working in Mexico for last 17 years. Married into the countryside now, but people are the same no matter where in the world you go. Maybe you can trust an immediate team...but still ..go over the work ..for your own good. I designed and built 5200 houses in Baja over a 6 year period ...and during one of my periodical inspections .. I found that the cyclone bolts...or rather hurricane bolts here, lol... Had not been tightened down on one house.... bringing us to inspect all under construction at that time. We found 80% had been fitted with all in place, but no final tightening and inspection. The cost was phenomenal and the contractor dismissed...and the new contractor under a contract to bring him responsible for any further incidents from non compliance to tightening. I didn't spend my life leaning to trust people as a mode of growing up ...rather the opposite in our line of work. I developed more in the line of taking responsibility for my actions ..whether work done or people employed to do that work. Other wise...excellent educative video here.
Add, more content, going to the hardware, looking forward to your next video, good work
Good video, too short
What length do you prefer? I usually aim for 9-12 minutes for this kind of content. Have you seen any of my other videos?
watching from Barbados west Indies
I love this build but the music is too loud. Thanks and stay safe.
Hey thanks for the feed back, I did have a bit of trouble with the second track, but will definitely have quieter music next time :)
I'm your 100th subscriber! Great story telling and film making! Looking forward to the next video
Thanks for subscribing! the next video is well on the way :)
Great to see a family dream in progress. I had a similar experience years ago. My kids were so excited with each phase of the project. Way to go! Can't wait to see more.
Involving the kids and letting them participate in the process allows them to see both the effort required and the finished product. I bet you are already aware of the benefits in what the kids can learn about achieving goals through hard work, but for me seeing the dream unravel is crossing between foresight and hindsight. I find myself looking both back to the planning days and forwards to the next stage, and each step feels more possible and less impossible. :)
Very nice. It's great seeing the progress from my bird's - eye view over the fence.
Thanks Eileen, you get a front row seat and get a preview of what is to come :)
Promo'SM 😣
I had heaps of fun at ecamo this year really excited for next yr🎉
what time do they start?
I got there at 5AM to get a good position and setup 2 cinema Cameras but around 6:30 there was a good crowd growing and lots of big flames lighting up the dawning sky.
Hi - about what time did u get there for the event to start? We r hoping to catch the march 2024 event soon
We arrived at 5am to set up 3 cameras, was heavy dew so we did battle a little condensation. We filmed 3 days in a row with long lenses on day one shooting from across the lake. Thankfully that was the only day where there was no fog on the lake. I would love to see any footage you take as it is always inspirational seeing others perspectives on similar events.
Is there a place you would recommend to take pics from a more top down view of the balloons you think? after wanting to take some higher ground pics of the whole event
@@rchow4100 this can be challenging to work out as there are a few factors to consider. Firstly, the balloons usually take off from the lake which is within the Hospital helipad (a controlled airspace) this means you cannot legally fly a drone nearby. The other factor to consider is knowing where the balloons will end up. For me I managed to fly from Minogue Park, outside controlled air space and far enough away from the balloons. Tills lookout may also be a good place to catch some action.
Great story, beautifully delivered
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Excellent job you deserve to do well
Thank you very much, Dad. This was your last communication with me before you died.
