I don't even live in Central Cal, and just reading the title of this video raised my eyebrows. Then i watched it. Wow, how brazen. I see both sides of the argument, but I can't support the open exposure of a long-time local resource to the hordes for views, likes, money, fame, sex, drugs, etc. None of that shit is worth selling your pass, and soul, for. Next time you make a video like this, film at a fickle beachbreak in the area that's only good twice a year, surf way down the beach, leave out all landmarks, post the video six months later and just call it Somewhere in California. It's the respectful way to do it.

You should know to have more respect for surfing and the very few sacred places left on this earth. i think that the negative posts in this thread are completely overreacting. at no time did the short film betray any location. you would have to know the coast quite well to figure out where these shots were taken. what's shown here is an inland to coastal odyssey winding up at some spots with distinct landmarks. to someone with no prior knowledge it would take quite a bit of iterating to line it up, not to mention getting the right conditions, which is easier said than done. the people making all these demands and threats come off like lamesters and bullies; they should be ignored. i don't see this video being a precursor to any kind of invasion. i go to the central coast a lot on solo trips and i am not seeing any indication of influx. which is why i go there. to get away. the only crowds to worry about are local crowds, if you could call them crowds.
