✨ "I will meet you at the edge of the universe. And if you get there first, wait for me." ✨ Does your horse love the snow as much as mine? Let me know in the comments! ⬇️
And let me add, when you put a blanket on your horse, you're interfering with the natural isolation of their coat, so then blanket needs to do the whole job. If e.g. it's minus 10° Celsius or colder, the blanket should have around 300g.
Our pony loves her blanket too!
Yes, when it's really cold, some horses just want a blanket.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Getting mixed singles and understanding what I'm saying is one of my biggest concerns. So question, how do you walk away after giving them scratches and attention without it giving a signal of 'no' what did you just need to move on to the next chore?❤
Great question! When you just walk away, without hesitation and not looking back, then your horse should not follow. If it does, you might have given mixed signals in the past. If you just want to change positions while scratching, without saying 'no' to contact, then try not to turn your back to him, you can just turn around and 'pull him in' by looking at him and not shifting your weight towards him or looking away. I have a longer video on my channel, where I have this exact situation. If you want, you can take a look: ruclips.net/video/PB47cQyF79Q/видео.html

Why he issued the order that only two genders exist. Any other false narrative divides the mentally ill
Yeah tell that to the new orange guy !
He will not listen. But hopefully some of his fans. The way he behaves has nothing to do with good leadership, a horse behaving like that would immediately be excluded from the herd, or everyone would leave. The question is, why are we not a 'wise' as wild horses? Indoctrination? Fear? Not listening to our instincts? What do you think?
I like the way you described their personalities by the 5 elements. Makes a lot of sense.

All very understandable, but the leader horses follow in freedom is normally a very experienced (old/elder) mare. The stallion protects the herd from apart, may be also from behind. He also stands a bit apart, and even a bit higher if possible, from the rest... It is just a detail, like in wolves, not too many people know, but is a very interesting and mind clearing fact...
It's a common misunderstanding that mares in the wild 'lead' the herd, and I will make a video about that soon. They do in fact make situational decisions and often 'walk' at the front, but that doesn't mean they decide the overall direction or speed, the herd stallion is the one doing that. It's even a bit more complicated, as horse herds don't travel by themselves, they do this in larger associations... But it's always the stallions making the important decisions.

My God...what a spectacular horse
Thank you so much🌼 When I got her at 5 month from an auction I would have never thought she would look pretty one day 🥰
Qu il est beau !
What a beauty!❤❤🤩🤩
Thank you so much 🥰
My mare of 20+ years. Haven't ridden a horse since. Just a nice mule.
I totally understand. When you meet 'that horse' it almost seems unfair or even impossible to open your heart for another one. Maybe, one day... 🧡💕
She thought me patience.
Awe, the most valuable lesson, we can learn 🥰
Horses are so special, everyone should have one to love!❤❤❤❤❤❤
At least everyone, who's gentle, patient, and willing to listen to them 🧡🌻
Patience, love.
Absolutely! Patience is huge, because it means for us self-awareness, self-management and trust that all will work out - some day. And yes, horses teach us, what 'real' love is - no judgment, no expectations...
I did, and they were the best years of my life. His name was Emperador ❤
Awe, that's so wonderful, and what a special name. Was there something 'special' you learned from him?
He’s looking for me…. I have been waiting for him.
Awe. Some are just special 🧡
@ we are all special lol… I miss horses I truly do. I wanna be around them again.
@Kathryn-n9s yes, all horses are special, but some also teach us important life lessons 🌻 And I so understand, that you want to be around them, once you start to know them, you can't be without them...
@ exactly that’s what I missed. The most is being able to interact with them without language.
@@Kathryn-n9s very true. Just being together and sharing space 🌼
My 1st horse was 7 mo old & never touched by a human. Taught me a lot. She never totally lost her buck even at 17 years. I learned how to get past that.😅 i still think of her & she has been gone a long time.
Some horses come to be our teachers...
i found this very interesting, but mot helpful, because now i dont know what you should do if youre teaching a young horse not to be pushy while being led
Thanks for your comment! When your young horse is pushy, it could have many reasons. It could just be playfullyness (especially in young geldings, and in that case he will see asking him to back up as an invitation to play, which will increase his 'pushiness'), it could also be nervousness, as the horse is separated from its herd - and so on. So, there are two important steps. First to give him all the signals, that you want to become part of his herd (as only then he will follow you out of trust), and of course, most importantly, to set boundaries. Not by backing him up, but by blocking him. You could do that by raising your hand up, right in front of his eyes (without touching) to block his view. But this it a longer topic, I might make a video about it soon 🐎🧡
My Mustang mare Cinder is that 'one horse' for me. She taught me, that - all I had to do, to change her behaviour - was to change myself... I even wrote a Blog article about it: www.peopleandhorses.com/index.php/2024/04/25/from-fear-to-a-true-friendship-my-journey-of-reconnecting-with-horses-and-rediscovering-myself/
I back up my oldest mare alot, not as a "fix" for bolting, but to take out her energy, shes really fast and just throws her weight infront of her and runs after it, so backing her up makes her stop, use her muscle and think for a second, so she'll be slower again for a while, and slowly rebuilt built the muscle she needs to hold her own weight
Backing up a horse is not a problem in itself, but if your mare behaves like that, there is something causing this (e.g. not enough movement during the day, stress in her herd, pressure to comply, confusion, frustration, fear. To just back her up might solve the problem short term, but it's always best to find the trigger and remove it 🤗

Why does she wave her tail? In more vids too.
Good question. There are many reasons why horses wave their tails. Sometimes it's a subtle form of communication (e.g. that the horse is uncomfortable with something). In this case it's just the flies. This was filmed in summer, and the flies were all over at this time.
The smallest, the fietiest, the smartest
😄😜
Bellezas ❤️❤️❤️❤️🥳💋💋💋
🥰😃🥰
The second horses keep the direction
Yes, that's exactly true 🙂
We all know where we’re going of course, but someone is deciding the overall direction. The horse in the middle - she’s the situational leader. Just before the video starts, we met the first horse (Shiloh) on the trail, and she changed direction to join us and walk back to where she came from. There’s a lot going on. For example, you can tell we’re a herd because the horse in the middle (Cinder) is waiting for me, and the horse in front is waiting briefly for the two of us. Oh, I could talk for hours about this. And I do - in the Being Herd Membership. 🤗
Join up is used to start the relationship. To gain trust and authority. The key is to stop when the horse has shown you its desire to stop. You push any animal into a corner with no chance to escape it will fight. A horse being a herd animal it will not want to fight unless it is in that position. You dont put it in that postion. A person is capable of giving a horse confort and peace after it has given the signals. A car or chicken isnt
Your approach is the traditional way, which is based on the dominance theory. When you actually observe wild horses, you will notice, that there is no situation within a herd, that resembles anything like the situation in a round pen, aside from a stallion kicking a youngster out of its herd, a situation we don't want our horse to put in. And moreover, the one chased away has somewhere to go, a horse in a round pen not. The situation you create, is not only unnatural, it also doesn't lead to the desired outcome. The only thing you create is a helpless and obedient horse, which has nothing to do with a relationship.

Merci beaucoup 🤗
That there is no clear hierarchy in the wild has a significant impact on how we need to communicate with our horses and what we can or shouldn't do.
Horses react mainly to our energy, even if we're using the 'correct' body language. They know when we never learned to set healthy boundaries.
There is a reason, why we chose our horse as our companion, and their character has always something to do with us, they might e.g. mirror or balance us...
