Artemis Leros Boatyard is owned and operated by one of the oldest and most well-known traditional shipping families of the Dodecanese - the Karpathakis family. For many years, our members have been operating with small wooden cargo boats before commercializing, and even today we continue that long tradition with our modern steel cargo ships with Mr. Mikes Karpathakis being the Master Chief Engineer, Nikos Karpathakis, his son, the Shipmaster, and Evgenios Karpathakis the Chief Officer.
The creation of the boatyard has been our grandfather Nicholas’s dream, he has been a successful captain and always wanted to create a special boatyard in Leros since 1965 when the first sailing boats began to arrive at the island for pleasure. Some decades later, the younger Karpathakis generation made his dream come true by creating Artemis Leros Boatyard, having Kalliopi Karpathaki as the General Manager, responsible for the hospitality and care of their visitors.
