There are sources available of Haganah soldiers being interviewed after 1948 and they even detailed massacres of Palestinian civilians. British advisors were also present, and there is overwhelming evidence that massacres similar to these did actually occur. There were thousands of witnesses and accounts from victims and perpetrators alike. It's seriously alarming, that a time when anti-semitism is genuinely on the rise on the far-right, that killings which would otherwise be considered well documented in other contexts are being labelled anti-semitic and false in the Palestinian context. This kind of rhetoric is on the same level as the Armenian Genocide and Holocaust denialism. As someone who studies history, I really hope that these kinds of harmful indoctrination tactics will be seen for what they are in the near future: historically disingenuous propaganda.

What is often forgotten is that not only in 1946, but also in the 12th century during the Spanish Inquisition, Arab families welcomed persecuted Jews as their brothers and sisters. Palestinian Muslim and Christian families did this in 1946, welcoming European Jewish refugees into Palestine, only to be, in less than 2 years, forcibly evicted, as depicted in this film by both the Zionist terrorist Stern and Irgun gangs and the fledgling IDF. This led to the Nakba of 1948 and the focible displacement of 750,000 Muslim and Christian Palestinians when the State of Israel was established. That's why Israel was excluded from joining the UN for several years. On 11 December 1948, Resolution 194 reiterated the UN's status on Jerusalem and resolved in paragraph 11 of Resolution 194 "that the [Palestinian] refugees wishing to return to their homes and live at peace with their neighbours should be permitted to do so at the earliest practicable date". This resolution, accepted immediately by Israel, is the foundation of the claim of a Palestinian right to return. However, Israel did not ensure this and were not accepted into the UN until May 1949. Of course, to this day, Israel has failed to uphold Resolution 194 and illegal forced eviction of Palestinians in the West Banks continues, as does the wholesale genocide of Gaza. It still amazes me that of all persecuted races, the Jewish Community should know better than anyone else that the failure to recognise the Palestinian right to self-determination and to exist free from persecution is of fundamental importance to all, including Israel. Wikipedia states that this film is "based on a true story", and the film trailer at 0:46 says "inspired by true events". Which is it? No one knows the exact details of what happened in Dawayima. How many and people and how they were killed in Dawayima is widely disputed. I don't accept movies as actual truth as if someone had used a GoPro back in 1948.

I had to see this movie to make sure it was true. It is framed in a horrible way. With a man with a kippah who is commanded to kill a baby. There was no humanity given to the Jewish forces. Of course apart of these anti Jewish tropes let’s have the Ahkanazism be shown as the forces. When Israel as well as Jews come in all hues. The same as Palestinians. Now the movie was not kind to Arabs either. The father of the main character was trying to marry a 6th grader off. It made me sick. If I had a daughter there’s no thought of my princess at all getting married at 6th grade. She has a right to a life. Also the children through stones. No way would my children ever throw stones at anyone. Kids have a right to life.
