nice bike.i had an LC250 (not the 350),which i had converted to dual shock at the rear.i just hated the mono rear end.so i aquired an ex works TZ250 dual shock frame,& stuck all the LC bits on it.made me happier and i sold the mono frame to an RD400 owner!
When I got my license I got my first bike, a 1972 RD250. Loved that bike. A few years later in 1982 I purchased a very low mile 1979 RD400F Daytona Special. Although I've had many motorcycles since, from Yamaha's to Harleys and everything in between, that Daytona Special will always have a special place in my heart,
I've got an "issue" here. Do I like this engine's sound more than a Chrysler B or RB engine, more? Can we call it a tie? No, the 2 stroke twin, wins! B block engine (even though it made a LOT more power) is in second place. I can hold, in one hand, (if I don't remove the kick starter) the whole engine. Try that with a V8. Oh, this bike is looking right at a Mopar Dodge (Ram?) truck. "Nuff said! steve
Totally agree matey. Stock pipes on a stock bike, but on yours that would look daft. Really nice looking bike by the way. Used to have an RD250C back in 77, and thinking of getting another. Not sure the garage has enough room, as got an XS850 sitting in there at the mo.
La cargaron con ese aciento ridículo
Nothing like the sound of the RD with a nice set of expansion chambers!
Australian one was all white and known as coffin tank
The engine sounds perfect. I like that colour too.
All it needs is a seat !!!!
Which wheels and front calipers have you used?
Front end and rear wheel are 89 FZR1000, calipers are early R1
Nothing sounds like an RD...
That's just badass
Used to luv my rice rocket RD400, I still rue the day I sold it. yours is mint, nice bike.
Stop telling lies lad

Such an aggressive, stunning styled motor cycle. Those air cooled RD's were simply awesome.
It's 1982 I can smell Castro r and I'm pulling a wheelie up beechings way like a hero.happy days.😏

If you think that sounds good listen to my RZ500 with Toomey's on it.

VERY NICELY DONE, looks right, sounds right and keeps the mosquito's to a minimum
;)
Hate how you tottally destroyed the cushy seat for these ugliest and most horible thing that ruin any ride and tottally ruin bike's look.
I had a '77, with a similar seat, but there was a compartment, behind it. I had NO issues. But, I was MUCH younger. steve
Nice build
autolube pumps oil at all times, less at low rpm/throttle opening. lowest output is 100:1 while highest is 20:1
I have the rolling chassis minus the rear shocks and tank. If you are interested leave some way of contacting you.
I know most of the imp parts are sold but is there anything left of this bike (RD350) do let me know . I live a few miles from you.
super nice rd: what kind of tail section is that and where did you get it?

long live the 2 strokes! i had a 77 also and, sold it in 1993! miss that bike very much..
Stockers would look totally wrong on this bike, stock is for stock.
you need clip on's :), but good job
