I played from those times as well. I got out of the game probably about the same time. The thing is I started playing again in 2012 for the Syncho and XYZ era and I had a GREAT time during it for the next few years. Its just Konami changed how the game was made after that. They stopped focusing on good playable archytypes to give the game a variety of things to enjoy and focused on wildly OP sets to force you to buy the next big thing every new release and by the time Pendulums were in full swing they game completely changed from the paradigm I learned to love and lasted from 2008-2015 to the "I play connect the dots with my flow chart and summon 7 extra deck boss monsters that make the god card slook feeble and each get to negate a card(s) every round like Solemn Judgement without life point cost" style People talk about the old format but honestly the BEST time in Yugioh was the Zexal era that balanced playable archtypes and options better than the classic era of getting destroyed by Chaos Metamph Monarchs etc but still had some understanding of restraight and balance that was completely gone post Dragon Ruler and Pendulums

I'm not super informed about it, I'm an MTG type of guy, so I might be wrong on that

You can actually play jinzo in real life, konami are pushing heavy support for time wizard(historic formats). I quit playing current format and now only play 2005(Goat) and 2011(Edison) formats at my local card shop
