MT-42 Telegraph Line, AKA FLEX 42, Bartlett Reservoir, AZ
12/1/2024
New month, new trail!
Today we join a small group, total of 3 of us, to go hit Telegraph Line trail neat Bartlett Reservoir, AZ. This trail begins just a short drive northeast of Cave Creek, AZ.
With beautiful scenery, and some amazing trail variety, this one needs to be on everyon's list "to-do." While many trails in AZ seem to be either focused more on rock crawling, or easy dirt and gravel roads just for driving pleasure, this one rides a balance of a chill route, very minimal rocks, but still TONS of opportunity to flex out, hence it's nickname "FLEX 42."
This trail was closed for several years due to a really bad fire, and only opened back up just this year. Let's all do our p...

Returning to Terminator

Kind of like the movies, in Terminator 2, John Connor finds trust and confidence in the Terminator. This is my second time on this trail, and I kind of feel like John Connor, after getting to know what it was really all about. What kind of mayhem with the blue Big Booty Judy get into today? Terminator Trail, Table Mesa, AZ. Run from 11/30/2024
Traffic Jam on Backway to Crown King

The Marine Corps Birthday and Veteran's Day run through Backway to Crown King, 11/16/2024. Great group, many Vets with us. Thank you for your service, and happy birthday to the Marines in our group! Today was a packed and busy day on trail as you can tell. There wasn't a whole lot of stopping for photos or cool video, because most of our time stopped was dealing with traffic. New nickname for t...
Mingus Mountain and Smiley Rock

Today I had the itch to get in the dirt. The initial plan was to venture out just for a bit, but as is always tends to go, I get excited for what's around the next corner. Going solo is genrally not a great idea, but I figured since Mingus Mountain and Smiley Rock both had pretty low ratings, it would be fine. Mingus Mountain is a beautiful trail that just about any skill level can do, and most...

No better way to spend a Sunday than hanging out with friends, playing in the dirt! Today, we met up to run Backway to Crown King. This trail begins just a short skip north of Lake Pleasant in Arizona. Stretching over 25 miles of land, going from 1.700 feet to 6,500 feet in elevation, Backway to Crown King offers something for everyone. While the trail is rated a 7 out of 10, nealry all obstacl...
Wheelin' Terminator Trail, Table Mesa AZ

10/27/2024 - Today I met with a group of wheelers from Facebook at the Table Mesa trailhead. This is the second REAL trail I've done aside from putzing around in the middle of the desert. Great people, excellent advice, and a badass trail! I took minor damage to the side steps which has already been straightened out, but I will definitely need rock sliders before coming back to this trail again...

Good video, If I can, I would like to wheel with you.
Absolutely! Join us in Facebooks groups :) facebook.com/share/g/1PHAfSgLfb/ -or- facebook.com/share/g/19kdq2wWFe/
I have a 2013 JK on 33s. Is it worth putting in a quick-release for my sway bar, before buying bigger tires? I’m hoping by this time next year to be on 37s with my current profile.
I feel like disconnecting the sway is the way to go, but I have the cheater Rubicon so its just push button for me. Apex makes a badass set of easy to use disconnects that you just twist a knob and you're disconnected, twist it again and it reconnects when it lines up. Very awesome product as an alternative to the Rubi setup. www.apexdesignsusa.com/products/autolynx-sway-bar-disconnect #apex #autolynx
12:00 That white Rubicon climbing up the rock would make a sweet poster!
I agree! I got a lot of great shots of Ken doing that obstacle, 100% poster worthy for some of them!
Hey man I leave in chino valley near smiley rock and also have a jeep, hope we could wheel together sometime. Not sure how would be the best way to set something up. 👍🏼
Hey there! I have had good luck finding people wit run with on Facebook groups. Check out Arizona 4LO, It's a Jeep Thing AZ, and AZ Jeepz. Among those three, I never have a hard time finding a group to roll with, some big, some small.
LOVE that area
It was my first time out there, but I really enjoyed it and will be back!
Made this run over the summer. Right of passage for AZ off-roaders. We had a group of 23 and it took forever. Would have appreciated a smaller group like yours.
I definitely agree that a smaller group is ideal. At the same time, with as much traffic as this trail gets, it almost doesn't matter at some times because a group of 3 or 4 can turn into a convoy of 40 really fast. That's what happened to us in a subsequent trip lol here's that trip, a week after this video's trip ruclips.net/video/w6Y-tZtJXHc/видео.htmlsi=q3HiN44ERB4Mw4FO
Very cool, adding this one to my list of trails to run.
Definitely! You will not be disappointed! DM me in FB when you are thinking to go, I would totally do this trail again! I want to get better shots of all the obstacles, so I would love to go with a fellow RUclipsr who is willing to stop, set up cameras etc, do the obstacle, and move on!
The fire really did a number on that area. I volunteered with TRAL on restoring that trail, it was great being able to run it a few times before it officially reopened.
That's awesome man! Thank you so much for your contributions!
Flex 42 is a good nickname for this one for sure. I like this trail a lot. Crazy to see the burned out area from that recent fire.
Very awesome trail, and glad to see it open. I never ran it before this so I have no clue what it looked like before, but I heard from one of the guys I was with for this trip that it used to be super green and lush. He grew up in the area and ran this trail a lot before it closed.
As a NooB myself, I really enjoyed this run with all of you. Chris and Sean were rock stars guiding us throught the course. Awesome video footage Rarity👍. Looking forward to the next run.
Same to you! Pleasure running with you and hope to see you out on trail soon! Thanks for the comments on the video footage. This was shot entirely on an iPhone so I wasn't too sure it would turn out good.
If it weren't for the EBLS wouldn't have made it. Liberty's are great off roaders.
Not sure what EBLS is and there were not Liberty's in this run, lol
Me and Willard Barnhart took a sandrail up the back way to CK in Nov 1988. Didnt need no stinkin jeep.
That sounds awesome! Sandrails are pretty incredible machines for sure. I have never seen them climb things before though. I guess I need to see some videos of this! Every time I see a sandrail, they are just blasting across a beach or in the dunes as the speed of sound haha!
Damn snowbirds
It happens, lol. Can't get too upset, AZ has something a lot of people want!
The sun was perfect to catch the obstacles. Most videos seem to wash them out. Thanks!
Indeed tough to get good shots on the mountain in the blazing sun. Thanks for the comment!
fun looking trail thanks for sharing... sometimes the added traffic can be interesting, but in this case may have been a buzz-kill? (weekend-warriors)
@@LexusGX460-OFF-ROAD normally traffic here is moderate, but I think with it being a holiday weekend, there was just more for that. I was literally here 6 days before this (video posted of that as well) and there was traffic then too but nothing like this.
Looks challenging. But your vehicle made it look easy.
Thanks! My truck is pretty simple, nothing expensive. Got bigger tires coming this weekend though!
@ Nice. The upgrade will make your rig more of a beast.
I'm sure hoping so!
Excellent job from the driver of the Chevy for doing those obstacles.
I agree! He did a great job piloting for sure.
Probably one of the better videos out there showing the details of the obstacles. This will be super helpful for future trail goers.
Glad I could help! As you can tell by the stock Colorado and the almost stock gladiator, this trail is very doable with patience and the occasional good spotter
what a beautiful trail, reminds me of Cleghorn Ridge here in SoCal. ❤ ✌️
Sounds great! I would like to start making trips out of state to check out other areas, and I’m sure the wife would love to go back to Cali!
Looks like a very fun day!
Very fun day indeed! I just ran this trail again today, so that’s 4 times in a month now. It’s an awesome trail for sure!
This is a deep rabbit hole Boss! Good luck!
oh wow haha I am just now noticing this! I forgot that my Twitch feed uploaded to RUclips, I never checked here for comments lol.
All good brother hope you got into it my wife and I play all the time too it’s the best. Well not always but it’s still fun
Theres no mic audio
Yea I've been having numerous issues with my wireless headsets picking up just fine in Discord, but not in stream for some reason. Either too low, too loud, or nothing at all. I have since reverted back to a desktop mic and no issues now. Sorry!
Why is it that every time I have an update of some kind my audio settings all go haywire? Anyway, didn’t have as bad of a night in raid as initially seemed. We had a few wipes for silly mistakes but we got a lot further than before. Followed by a fun and quick key run
