My son is 5 and we have just figured out that he has ADHD. It breaks mine and his other mother’s hearts because we see the constant struggle. Especially since he’s started school full time. One of the main issues we have is that he does go to his fathers part time and the way we deal with him isn’t the same way his father deals with him so when he finally gets home it’s literally just us helping him regulate and decompress. Getting him back into his routine. I am just now starting to watch these videos and I will update with any changes.. good or bad. So far my partner and I are on the right track so it’s nice to see that what we’ve been doing naturally is helping or going to continue helping… I just wonder and hope we can make his life easier and happier and more content. If anyone has any advice I’d love to hear it… getting counseling and support is so hard where we live.. we have him on wait list after wait list and majority if not all are 18 months plus… for wait times and we just.. we need to help him now so.. if anyone is going through this too or is the child that went through it and you can shed light on what worked best for you I am all ears.. please. Thank you! I will continue to watch these videos as well

I am a Forty-three year old neurodivergant, who lives with a short fuse... Against my will. I am not violent or get physical with people but boy oh boy. Ok, it was bad as a kid, seemed to be under control through my twenties up until around the late thirties. I did not go to medical school so, I don't have patients. I have had a couple speeding tickets when I was younger but now, geez Louise. I drop stuff a lot and after the fourth time picking up the thing that I might be dropping. It just might get imbedded in the wall, broken or the good old F it I'm done. I can feel the anger coming on but I can't do anything about it. It's like there are two different people. A neurotypical and a neurodivergent. I can hear myself in my head telling myself it isn't a big deal. That happens to everybody. Everyone's has to deal stuff like this and they do it with grace. But the other side it feels like its response with, We aren't like everyone else. My body goes so hot my shirt will get soaked with sweat. Heavy breathing, breath holding and a very quiet but aggressive look on my face. I try to calm down but it can last my whole shift at work. My brain will stew on the bad stuff ALL day. 😞

My daughter just went through an one month experiment with eTNS device. When the doctor was teaching me how to use the device, she used it on my daughter for a few minutes. I already see huge change on our way home. The first week of using the device, my daughter was like a changed person. Her fidgeting went away almost 100%. She would listen to what people are saying around her. She was able to focus more. However, after the first week, the changes went away eventually. At the end of 4th week, she went back to where we started. I was so sad. I really thought the device made a huge difference in the beginning, I didn't expect the effect would go away so quickly. Now I felt like we're back to square one. Even if I could get the device with a prescription, I don't know if my insurance covers it yet (I don't have the latest information). I really wanted to give the device more time, or use it intermittently, to see if it gives a better outcome.

I have failed two traineeships because I couldn't get myself to do the course work and study, and then when I do study, nothing I read stays in my brain, no matter how many times I read it.

This is my son since the day he was born. He's incredibly intelligent, rarely misses a beat and tied to this is his ADHD. He's only 2.5 years old but I can tell he has so much He's thinking about and so much to say, he gets frustrated incredibly easy to the point he hurts himself unintentionally quite often during his melt downs. When he was born we suspected he had cerebal palsy, still a possibility but thankfully our state offers 100% free therapies until the child is free, regardless of income or insurance status(Nevada). So while he now has full functional use of his arms and legs, couldn't use his right arm or left leg much until 10mo, there's so much else to work on. He rarely sleeps through the night, not unusual for him to wake every 3 hours or so. It's certainly been a difficult road particularly for my wife. I feel terrible, I work out of state for weeks at a time, leaving her to deal with this all in my absence. I'm off for weeks at a time too but still... I am generally very calm in the majority of situations and try to keep him on task but I'm at a loss.

ADHD does exist just as bad behavior exists. Especially as ADHD is just a euphemism for bad behavior. This isn't the point though. ADHD exists and the causes of ADHD are all the result of bad parenting.

I believe that your podcast are extremely encouraging. In my elementary years is when I first got diagnosed. I’m gonna say 25 years ago but my my grandfather was a real fond of idea of medications so I didn’t take them he actually just didn’t believe in any of it so I didn’t get any of the help but I should have got. So I never really thought there was a problem with me but I know that I have ADHD and it’s affecting me more now only because I have a son that has adhd. And because I’m learning about it with him It can be very frustrating because I’m just now Actually learning about it with him the resources that I have aren’t really working out this podcast has been working out how do I go about it
