    Never embarrassed to own a Jaguar mate ...the day I become embarrassed to own a Supercharged V6 F-Type Jaguar then that's the day I might as well give up on life altogether. Most of the people losing their shit over one controversial Jaguar advert probably never considered ever buying one in the first place...Jaguar cannot exist on brand nostalgia alone they have to actually sell cars to remain viable hence this last throw of the dice rebrand ....yes it's certainly a controversial advert and that was probably it's main intention...to shock people and focus attention on the brand ...Jaguar hasn't had attention like this since the launch of the E-Type...no publicity is bad publicity as the old saying goes.

    Nice but instead of generalizing this type of consumer behavior, it would have been nicer if you categorized the consumer tiers ,their proportion of population, purchasing power etc., as most of us ( any thing below upper middle class ) can relate to our purchasing decisions where we weigh more on utility, economy and efficiency than brand value.

    Volkswagen sent 53000+ damaged cars for servicing? Each car would have cost even if 100 dollars to get repair then they spent 53 lakh dollars to hire 1000 mechanics? What economic is this????

      They probably just out sourced them instead of intentionally breaking down running cars. Like sending cars that need actual repair, into their competitor's workshop instead of fixing it on their own. In addition 50000+ application does not necessarily mean they sent out 50000+ faulty cars. It was probably just word of mouth that catalysed the process,like if a mechanic encountered one of these cars ,he most probably would share this info with the other mechanics that worked in that particular workshop.
