Great video. Good to see you downwind on my spots. How do you compare the lake near marseille ("etang de berre") to hood river? You really generate lots of speed with the x 700 even if the waves are slow on the lakes, the secret is sharp turns, right?

Nice video. It is always good to be aware of hazards and local laws when traveling to new locations. Connecting with locals familiar with the area was a good move. These big heavy ships are very difficult to stop or turn when under way and are confined to operating in a fairly narrow channel due their draft. In Texas if a recreational vessel breaks down in a narrow shipping lane and impedes commercial vessels there can be fines up to $5,000 or if they can't stop to avoid you it could cost you even more. It is best for recreational crafts to stay to the sides of the actual shipping lanes and to limit your time in the lanes when crossing them. It was good that you had some bros on skis nearby to try and give you a jump start and then tow you out of the shipping lanes. It is also a good idea to have an anchor in case you break down outside the shipping lanes, it can help keep you from accidentally drifting into the shipping lanes until help arrives.
