This one was on a lvl4. I was doing lvl8 or 9, man it was absolutely hellish. No one was really aware of what was happening, if some guy dropped a barrage and the barrage glitched or else. Having free force fields was the only way to understand it was on purpose and even if it was not quite enough to survive, it generated an awesome gameplay for those who stood still. Hellish like we all love
I actually really fcking loved this. It was an extra challenge and made things really fun, the constant explosions kept the adrenaline pumping, added with the acid on chort's bay, it was chef's kiss. And it fits the lore of the game, the higher ups don't actually care about the helldivers.
This has been removed now and it just gives us a 380mm for free. Anyone who complained about it lacked nuts. Planetary bombardment put hair on your chest. I am convinced that everyone who cried about this doesn't understand what PLANETARY BOMBARDMENT means and is actually bad at the game. Where are the players who had the balls to fight on Malevelon Creek? The game is filled with a bunch of cry babies who piss and moan until they get their way because they can't believe a game should be challenging. One planet out of dozens that you can play at any time would be targetted by this, so if you don't like it then go to a different planet! Fuck sakes. Can't believe arrowhead folded.

This was so much better than the barrage. The only two things that would have made it even better are the addition of the A-10 Warthog sound and the Free Bird solo blaring in the back as the Eagle Storm activates

honestly, i can stay alive longer as a traitor as long as i keep moving. dss just randomly hits you and it's over
So instead of having some bonus on stratagems, boosts, ammo or whatever, they just initiate the "traitor" trigger, and call it "planetary bombardment".
None necessary bombing... If those cannons and fire control bridge doesnt have our IR tracker and still shooting, lastly i died 2 times by the artillery. it should be around the bases

we had jammers and detector towers... even AA guns, explode long before we did anything. if we had to stand still for any amount of time we called in the shield dome. as of this moment i tell every complainer, get on my level (51)
Yeah, people just don’t want to adapt. Shield pack and blast armor is a no brainer.

It will be much better if they just triple any stratagem... if you call down any equipment, you got 3 of them, if you call sentry, you got 3 of them, if you call barrage, 3 of them just activated, even any eagle just 3 of them.

We did 3 missions easy when we just adapted. Get your explosion resistance armour out boys. You're still going to die if the arty lands right on top of you, but otherwise you'll survive unless you ragdoll off a cliff or something, which is hilarious in and of itself.

When i read the description of the barrage, i thought that they would select zones of the map and make them unnacessible cuz the bombarment.

I don't think they pay anyone to test this... do you remember the TCS tower and how it was impossible to finished when it launched? do you remember the defense/evacuate mission for the bot when it launched? all of their content is untested and they don't care

You get numb to it after a while But it becomes pointless to carry any support or backpack, because you’ll just lose them
Never activate this booster. I thought all 3 boosters would work simultaneously but it doesn’t. The 1% attack boost it gives compared to the lost squad impact from huge player deaths and objectives not being done isn’t worth it.
It’s simple to fix: add 380 stratagem without cool down time instead of this random waste of time.

They should've waited till clan and group systems were in the game to release DSS. The focus should've been on the illuminate, and DSS should've been SE's response. I thought this would be more like the strata relay from warframe and clan system dojo.. meet up with random players and have different NPC's have events and dev interactions like meeting General Brach and visiting a zoo where they show off terminid experimental mutations and where our resources go, maybe even weapon mod vendors.. I expected so many things... instead we got trolled again! But yeah? This is pretty much just an overrated modifier settings menu, and I didn't really care for those. I guess we'll see how it is with (MORE) explosions everywhere.. 😂 They released this, too early imo.. focus should have been on releasing the squids and weapon mods.. and they should've waited to release this DSS space station until clans and group systems are ready and we better be able to explore the station!

@Clogmonger I agree... they should've never teased this DSS until it functions at least first.. replace the orbital barrages with railcannons and implement all the changes I mentioned. This should've been our platoon hub for social interactions and events.. having the thing shoot stuff is the simplest easiest thing you could do.. a minimum viable product..
