      8 Million baht PLUS a pension!! You can live very good here! There are many factors, like location, size, amenities, but you could buy a condo near the water for 1-2 million and cheaper away from touristy towns. Then depending on other factors, if housing is paid for just spend about another 8-10K Baht a month for utilities. You will have more than enough in my opinion. If you really want serious help, we could arrange a video call and plan it out or at least have a look.

      I think compared to back home it is cheap. Electric is MORE but if I factor in all utilities over a years time (more electric here but no heating) then it would be a significant difference in cost. What's really crazy is I'm sure I spend more than the average Thai person (I asked a few people I know, to compare), meaning my monthly expenses are high and could be a lot cheaper if I controlled my usage better. They can live with just fans going.. I die if I'm not with-in eye-shot of an AC unit.

    What hz is 110v normally at? Charging on type C running power through a good power bank or a USB multi board has always seemed like a good idea to me. AU/NZ plugs seem to be a better design, hang on to the plug well, lower amperage with 240v, less voltage drop with the higher voltage, thinner cheaper wire due to amperage. I vote everyone gets on board and changes to metric as it is far simpler and more logical

    • @IDKThailand
      @IDKThailand Месяц назад

      normally 60 hz. -- from what I have seen it is 50 hz for 220V and 60 hz for 110V -- BUT!! I AM NOT AN ELECTRICAL EXPERT and I could be totally wrong. There are always variations to this and sometimes you just need to look it up to be 100% sure what that country uses normally, but things are generally standardized as it would be impossible for device manufactures to make safe products otherwise.

    The good luck poll house things look like smaller spirit houses. What's the difference? The cows look clean, large rabbit ears are odd. Picture and picture is good if you could keep them both framed well. 4K HDR at a high frame rate would be ideal. Even 1440p at 60+fps. Or record in raw then export it in another format so you can get the very best quality for a lower res and avoid the upload bottle neck. Starlink has 300/50mb if you don't have fibre, 50mb up over night is a lot of data. If you need a NAS for storage or a editing server X99 mobos with an old xeon or two are dirt cheap and extremely cost effective. For $500 NZD you could put together a DIY beast

    Interesting. Apples are a lot cheaper in NZ, a large bag isn't a lot maybe $3NZD (about $1.80 USD). Red meat & salmon is a lot cheaper here. Fresh NZ lamb is often cheaper in the UK. It would be cheaper to buy a cow a plane ticket and part it out when you land. Chili goes up to 300/kg some years in winter and a very limited verity. Tropical fruit is up to 4X as much here. Electronics are a lot cheaper there but are they a cheaper model? or a lower build quality? Could you get the same amount of protein at a local market as in NZ for a reasonable price? I eat a lot of meat and veg, nothing processed or try not to eat a lot of carbs.500grams+ of red meat or fish a day looks expensive there. Costs a bullet and a afternoon here.

    • @IDKThailand
      @IDKThailand Месяц назад

      It is so climate dependent for food cost. What used to be imported for me back in USA, hence expensive, is grown locally here and cheap.. and vis-versa. So apples are expensive here but mangos are so cheap! Food cost add up quickly here, have to sacrifice quality for price. I'm not sure about electronics, you can buy cheaply made no name brands but.. you get what you pay for. This store is like a restaurant supplier, so prices are pretty good to what's available else where here (not counting the markets that have the meat sitting out all day in the sun ..with flies).
