USA is a huge empire that too a democratic one and empires are violent places because psychology of people becomes disturbed. Comparing comparable societies the number of homicides per capita in USA is ten times lower than in Latin American countries which has no free gun laws. Also, economically Gun industry is an excellent recession proof industry. Most violence occur during economic downturn. It is exactly at this moment , when PROFITABLE opportunities are rare it provides profit. Gun sales is known to increase during downturns. This keeps up till economic revival Sovereignty shifts to Individual the tax payer.. Free gun laws are a guarantee that right to unconditional freedom of speech and expression (excluding libel and contempt of court) which is a derivative of private property rights exists.
